Just bought a used 2009 eZip Trailz and all is perfect except...
Do I do anything to activate PAS? I believe if the battery is on and the switch is in PAS, all I do is pedal and it will pick up. Works fine in TAG.
I have tried the throttle but it doesn't affect it at all.
There seems to be no instructions in the manual and I may just be stupid here.
Any instructions?
Electrically all is well but the pesky PAS is dead. Brake interlock is fine. Disconnected and connected all connectors.
I've went thru wiring and looked at the obvious, the sensor. I don't know how anything could go wrong here just a sensor and magnets. Adjusted several times, no change. Can I take a meter and see anything at the connector as I turn the pedals? Seems should have a pulse or something. Anyway, please help.
Don't want to invest in a controller. Would double the value of the bike.
Bottom line, is there a general troubleshooting guide or process to narrow down to sensor or controller?

Thanks in advance.

It is either the sensor or the wiring. The controller is fine.

If it's a Hall sensor, you can put a meter on the PAS output and watch it wiggle with a multimeter. I would expect three wires, constant +5v, 0v, and output.

The TAG/PAS switch could have failed.
Probe the PAS sensor voltage at the controller when turning the cranks and see what you get.
Could just be the clearance of the PAS sensor/magnet ring.

Make sure the PAS is connected at the controller. Also make sure it has the factory 24V controller in it, I have a 2013 model that I installed a 36V controller in. The 36V controller doesn't have the PAS function.

2009 eZip traiz likely has same PAS as 2008.
It is not a PAS by modern standards!
It simply negates throttle function until pedal operates for 3 seconds. - Then you can use throttle ...
