First EV Build - Vespa Et2

Hi all! Wanted to post my Vespa ET2 build. Just did my first test ride yesterday with great success!

Some quick stats:
4kw QS Motor
Fardriver ND72450 Controller
72V 20ah

Goal was to keep the scooter as close to OEM on styling and controls while making it a fun "putt" around town on a nice Saturday scoot. A small range was intended mainly to keep cost low. Goal was getting 30 - 40 miles on a single charge. So far, very happy with the progress and once the 12V accessories are setup I will post an update.

Looks good! Where did you get the swingarm, is that something that QSMotor sells?

Did you reach your goal of 30-40 mile range?

Must be nice to get rid of the oily messy bits.

Did the swingarm come with the motor from QSMotor, or is it just a sticker?

If you haven't already, you might want to draw up yourself a complete wiring diagram in case you have to troubleshoot things later, when you don't remember all the details, and keep a printout with you on the scooter in case you ahve to do it roadside.

You could even post it here in the thread for safekeeping and to help others doing such a conversion.

Too bad i never take my own advice; I always put this part off and then have to fix something and have no idea which wire does what or goes where.

Agreed! No liquids made the tinkering much more enjoyable

Swingarm is built by QSMotor, it is originally built as a replacement for a NIU moped. Do a quick google and you will find it "NIU QSMotor Swing arm." I bought it thinking I was going to fabricate a new center assembly and use the arms of that kit since I knew those would fit my motor. But to my surprise, with a few bushings and spacers, the arm fit my Vespa's swingarm bracket. I can post some more photos of the assembly when I get back to wiring the rest of the 12v accessories.

Great idea and one I have definitely been putting off. I think I am finally at a good point now though since the 72v system is done to start drafting the whole picture. I'd love to hear people's thoughts and hopefully get some good ideas for the build.

Thanks for the info, this makes it pretty easy to convert I'm sure. Now I'm considering looking for a Vespa myself.
