First Post and my modded 09 Schwinn Coffee

First off, Great site. So much great info.

I have just built a 2009 Schwinn Coffee. Below are the specs and pics.

2009 Schwinn Coffee
Wilderness Energy BL-36 Front Hub Kit (50 amp controller and supposedly 750 watt motor)
Ping 36V 15Ah LiFePo4 Battery
Astro Super Whattmeter model 101

I tried to make this first build as clean, fast, and reliable as possible. Here is the outcome.

I am also considering selling it to build a mountain bike. We will see.

Nice build - I had the same idea late last year, had even ordered a coffee, but then abandoned the plan after thinking through the project some more. Couldn't get my rear wheel-based ebike-kit to fit nicely, plus the gearing would have to be changed for my preferences. While I like the simplicity of the single speed, I actually appreciate having some gears. How is pedaling at e-bike speeds working out on the coffee?

I pretty much only pedal when starting out. The rest is up to the motor. lol. I just bought a 2010 GT Force 3.0 that I might motorize and I will sell the coffee with the kit on it. It is a pretty fast bike. Everyone at work has riden it and loves it.

On my part, I just practically never pedal - even when starting :lol: . I just love the look on the faces of people watching me fly away!
