Good Sources for used 18650 cells in the UK?

scrap laptop packs.
usually only one or two cellsa re dud, so the pack fails.

Get old laptop packs, strip them and then run load / cycle tests with an iCharger or similar

I 'd guess..or second hand shops..
computer repair places
car boot sales etc. look out of dead laptops..I always find the Recycle Centre people to be too bloody minded...

charity shops?
I get mine form the local dump...recycle centre here in jersey...usually when the operatives backs are turned

Expect about a 50-60% reject rate for cells from scrapped laptop batteries. I've just been through testing over 400 recycled cells and less than half were worth keeping.

I have 45-60 new old stock 18650's in my garage from laptop batteries. I looked on ebay and found people had new unused batteries bought in error. One in 4 had branded cells inside like panasonic cg's etc. One brand only used high end cells but i cant remember the name. it will come to me soon. Power4u/2power or something.

Not ideal for building packs though as they are all differently aged. cost 2-4 quid each delivered. 14v 5600mah ones will have 8 cells in.
