why do you say that? do all the mosfets show the same forward bias?
Blue sounds like you have failed hi and low side fets. I would pull it apart. Its recomended to replace all fets in parallel to the one that is failed shorted. Some people say replace all of them in the controller but I have NEVER needed to do that just make sure if you have a phase with one side failed replace all in that side of the phase or if both sides are failed replace all in the phase.garfong said:With the dmm set to ohms I get about 10k resistance on all phase wires but blue. Blue has 0 resistance to positive or negative.
Yes sorry I always test on the diode test mode. This will let you test the internal diodes of the fets as you go. You need to test each phase to positive in both directions then each phase to negative in both directions. The diode test mode tries to force a current through the fets and in the one direction the diode will stop it so there will be nothing and the other it will read something like ~.4000 this is a measurement of a voltage drop across the diode and usually a good number is around .4 You will likely find a strange reading on the blue phase.dnmun said:0 ohms when forward biased doesn't tell you if it is dead. does your DVM have a diode tester function at the bottom of the ohmeter range?
Now it would be good to double check... I alwas look close at the board for a peice of somethign shorting them like that and I tripple check the mesurements. I also look for flux (which absorbs water) to meybe to be in a spot to cause it.garfong said:Using harbor freight dmm. Black probe on power connectors and red probe on phase wires.

Skype chinglish is your best bet. Have to write out something along the lines of:dnmun said:maybe hong kong post returned it to him for insufficient postage.
is email the best way to talk to leo? i hate to skype in chinglish.
i am interested in the big 24 irfb4110 sine wave controller for silverheels and wondered about the price. does he talk price in emails or does that happen only at order?
Me too, seeing as someone else went through a 15FET 4410 AND 4110 on 24S. I have customers on the road for ~1 year with 15fet 4410s at 24S and they've been loving it, same goes for my 18fet 4110.crossbreak said:I'm keen to see if that works!
