Gt08 throttle upgrade.

I bought this gt08 for cheap because the throttle was snapped off the key and someone had attempted to repair it and cut all the wiring. I spliced it good enough to get it to turn on but it was setting a throttle code. Turns out the magnet had fallen out of the throttle at some point. The replacement throttle is $65 and it doesn’t look like there’s any other options for a replacement. Also replacing these deathtrap finger throttles is always a good idea.

Anyway it was pretty simple to install a $15 Amazon thumb throttle with key. Just desolder the original hall sensor, cut the wiring in the new thumb throttle and solder it in place using the color coded wiring. I also needed the key switch so I just soldered that to the original key switch. This keeps the original circuitry that the scooter needs to see to turn on.

That's a good idea. I might have to do that to a scooter I have with a trigger throttle. I really don't like the trigger throttle.
