What's the kit and battery and how do you have it wired? pics may help.
when plugging a battery into a controller there is almost always a spark or pop unless using a precharge resistor.
to diagnose this properly you need a Lyen tester and a good multimeter.

Yea I wish they just wouldn't put pictures on those buttons at all because we use them for so many different things. My 'on' switch is a repurposed light button, and I like to use the horn button as a regen enabler sometimes so that I don't always have to use regen everytime I pull the brake handles (I don't like to regen all the way down a hill if I'm going super fast so I don't stress my bms too much from the charge current, situations like that)
