the battery on my kooky scooter is dead and i'm trying to source an inexpensive (yeah, yeah, i know) replacement that i can buy in the US of A. the stated specs are 36v, 10.5 ah, 375wh. would need it in a case with a mount so i could put it where the old one is. the flatter the form factor, the better. (wish i could reuse the current case but i don't have the necessary skills.)

i don't need to go fast and only use the slowest setting of the 3 available on my controller. the range is fine for my needs. more is always better but even a little less would be okay.

controller specs are: 36v, 350w, 17A current limit. motor is a 350w Bafang hub.

i know that batteries from amazon are frowned upon but stuff from Em3ev is out of my price range. also there's faster delivery from amazon and i kinda need it, since i'm mostly disabled and use the scooter as my primary in-town transportation.

thanks for any thoughts you might have!

Five years ago, I bought a pair of used scooter packs from batteryclearinghouse.com They were used in rental scooters, so they were built better than any ebike pack I've seen in person, or in pics (em3ev). Worked out fine. BCH no longer has any for sale.

This guy, jag35, and he's a nut (appears to be a self taught) with a whole series of youtube videos, does sell used ebike/scooter packs. The primary attribute is they're made with brand name cells, so less likely to catch on fire. An example. I have bought new cells from him, but no batteries.

He goes inside and tests the pack too. I assumed it powers up w/o needing the original scooter connects. APologies if it doesn't.

i bought some jump motors from him a few years ago and they were great. that stubby one is too fat for my needs, so i'll look at the others. i might just buy a cheapo one from walmart if only because you can return em (to the store, even) until jan 31.

here's a 36v 10ah one for $85 clams, for instance. 36V 10AH Battery 36V Lithium-ion Ebike Battery with BMS Compatible for 200W-750W Motors Adult Electric Bikes - Walmart.com.

as long as it doesn't explode on me .... then again ...

edit: i went ahead and ordered this 12ah one. we shall see what we shall see. 36V Lithium Battery 12Ah 12000mAh 36V Ebike Battery for 100W-1000W Electric Bike Batteries with 2A Charger T plug - Walmart.com
