Hello all, I have never posted on a forum before so please be patient with me.

I have recently acquired a golf scooter and have been doing a few modifications to make it much faster.

The factory motor is a 48v hub motor Branded HENGTAI HT-HGCR1906S0029-011. I have no motor specs for this, I couldn't find any motor specs online and the manufacturer themselves will not supply the motor specifications.

I purchased a FLIPSKY 75200 PRO V2.0 with a 72v 60A battery pushing 4320 Watts. Peak power is about 50% more. I'm having a heck of a time trying to program the FLIPSKY controller with the VESC IOS application.

I can get the motor to bump, but it trips on overcurrent. I then set my Max current cutout a bit higher to get the same result. My brake caliper was disconnected and did not play a factor in this. I did notice when I gave a throttle input to the motor controller the motor would alternate from bumping forward then bumping backwards but never spun completely.

After all of this, my motor is now dragging and jolting with no power or connection to the motor.

Does anyone know what parameters would be a good starting point that would be safe to start troubleshooting/make small changes?

I have programmed a Kelly controller for a different project of mine, and it worked great. I got the FLIPSKY simply because of the physical dimensions/concealability. I'm trying to keep this discrete knowing it will be on a golf course!

Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Flipsky makes some really low quality VESCs that don't program like regular models because they cut corners. They can also be buggy.

Might be helpful to show your parameters or upload a file containing them, maybe someone well versed in VESCs can help you.

A casual assessment is that the motor is not tuned right. VESC has a tuning wizard you need to run (again?). Maybe the motor's halls are giving you an issue.

As an aside, I find the desktop VESC application much nicer to work with than the mobile apps (even though it's a bit weird to down since you have to "buy" it for $0 from their store...)
