Hey guys im new to ES but ive done a bit of browsing for the past hour or so.

I have generated a part list and i would like some advice or anything that might help me make my first board.
found more parts. I have decided that i will 3d print some of my mechanical parts.

ESC

Motor

Batteries (Not sure if 40C is compatiable)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bias-5000mAh-11 ... lipo+11.1v
Kegels

Not sure what controller to get. I like the idea of using a Wii Nunchuck as a controller but i am not sure if anyone sells any or if anyone has an tutorial.

What decks are recommended

I currrently have a Comet Grease Shark

It is pretty wide and sturdy with little flex and a pretty good clearance

That ESC won't do. It's only a 4S ESC.. You'll want a 6S 120A/150A ESC at least.. You'll want to wire (2) 3S packs in series for 6S 5ah.

Thanks man i knew i didnt get the right ESC

I found a battery that might work if not i will just get two 3s 25c 11.1v battery

What this work. I know its pricey but i can get it cheaper from someone i know. This is a parallel battery .. would this matter

i built my first electric longboard last week and made a little video about it, maybe you find it helpful, if you have any questions, just ask: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anB4oZ5n1Mw

Just watched your video. Very helpful thanks

really cool instructional video, you put in a lot of effort into that!! I cant help for this 1 remark: you really overtighten your wheel screws!! It nearly physically hurt me to watch that poor wheel barely roll and the bearings squeal in pain

p.s.: think there are many better ways to properly connect stranded wires - have a look at this for inspiration: https://youtu.be/Q9G9gaokqvM?t=206

I am also in the process of building my first board.. endless-sphere has a lot of good resources..

Planned setup:
  • 245Kv 63mm motor
    150A ESC
    2x 8000mah 3S batteries
    15mm belt
    14T motor gear
    36T Drive gear
    Wireless nunchuck for controller
    iMax B6 Charger

Still need to decide on wheel size...
Current decision 83mm... Want to explore 97mm but have not found enough resources to make a decision. Im worried about acceleration.
