Hi all. Need help on how to switch off the golden motor BAC-0501 controller. So my set up has the standard twist throttle with battery indicator and the controller is connected to the motor with no problems running.

Only problem is that once the battery is plugged to the controller, the controller is turned on immediately and the throttle is activated and motor will be able to run. I am wondering if anyone knows where do i install a switch to switch off the controller even when the battery is plugged in so that i would not have to keep unpluggng the battery for safety sake.

I noticed that there is a B+ and L (refer to picture) connection but i am not too sure what i should be plugging to that. Any help will be great. Try to avoid making a switch from the battery to the controller if the controller can just be switched off.

Thanks in advance!

try shorting BR and GND, it should disable the throttle, as if the brake switch is activated.

thanks for your input! do you know then what is the function of the B+ and L on the extreme right of the controller?

Note that I'm not familiar with this controller, but B+ is sure battery voltage that probably serves for battery indicator, and L may be power supply for light.
Have you tried what I proposed?

I read that L is for low lock. But anyway, i ended up making a switch that switched the throttle on and off. I guess that is the safest option i can come up with now. thanks miuan

L and GND are for the ignition switch as per the wiring kit I received with my one.

Hello.
I just got my BAC-0501 controller, the reference is MX50AV4.0. I have the battery, the hall sensors, throttle and motor phases connected.
I've seen online that to power it ON I need to connect B+ with L, in my case, my wiring harness doesn't have the B+ wire.
I contacted the seller and sent me this diagram:View attachment BAC-0501 wiring diagramm.pdf which shows that I must connect L with ground. I tried connecting L with ground and nothing happened.
Here's my wiring harness: IMG-1179.jpg
I thought to run a wire from B+ to L, but I'm concerned to blow something up.
Thanks!

I would first see if your getting 5vdc available on the 5V connectors with the L wire grounded as per the provided wiring instructions.(as well as how it's wired)

I checked with two multimeters that I have and I don't have 5V DC at both throttle and hall sensors with L connected to GND, it reads 0 volts. I currently have a 48 volt battery connected which is giving 55.1 volts at the moment (59 volts when fully charged), I don't think it is on overvoltage protection.

If power switch and High lock do the same, with power switch doesn't do anything, it's a bad idea if I try with the yellow wires only?

I should have said, 'don't use the yellow wires at the same time"... If your controller matches the links references, I would try the yellow control wires after trying the previous suggestions.

I didn't plugged both at the same time, I only plugged the one with the red and black wire and nothing happened. I'm also waiting for the answer from the vendor.
