Do you know if the centre of the needle bearing is supposed to turn? I need to replace my nylon gear and I noticed on the replacement gear the middle part of the bearing does not turn but the front and rear parts do. The needle rollers all spin but the needle cage itself does not spin like the front and rear which both do. If no one has done this job or inspected the gear I will check my broken gear but I thought I would ask before I started taking the motor apart.
EDIT: I just googled the part number HFL 1626 and found out that the bearing is a one way clutch bearing. Also I noticed that the cage is metal on the centre bit of the bearing but the front and rear are plastic so I am going to assume that it is supposed to be like this.
EDIT: I tried to turn the needles and they turn both ways but the cage doesn't move either way. Is it faulty as I think it should spin in one direction?
