How a mid-drive motor maker solves the uncentered frame about the pedals issue

This is how one mid-drive producer (Binova Flow) solves the right-shifted pedal problem:

Though it seems a bit bizarre that the right pedal extends out from the crank arm, probably giving it an unreasonable Q-factor.

Bafang and Tongsheng leave the problem for users to deal with. Have any other mid-drive motor makers thought this through?

i can't see the images*** but if the right pedal is extended out away from the crank arm, it's not effectively any different than if the crank arm itself is shifted to the right on the bb shaft, as far as it's effects on the rider are concerned.


when i google "binova flow", the drive that i see looks like it does have the crank itself shifted to the right, just like other common middrives? but there aren't any straight-on shots so it's hard to see by how much.

The Binova flow motor is an 250 watt axial flux design to meet euro standards, but I'd prefer a hub motor of their design with greater output. Price aside, this looks to be ez pz add on kit that would actually work well with my cannondale H600.

The bottom bracket should give you an idea of the offset... maybe 2".

Funny enough, *my* legs are naturally 'shifted to the right' for some reason... actually, I need an extra-wide Q-factor as well, but even MORE on the right, riding w/o at least one pedal extender makes my knees hurt and on flat pedals I gravitate to the outside edge of the right pedal... pelvic tilt or something.
So, good of your to warn us, I would not be getting one, lol.
