This is how one mid-drive producer (Binova Flow) solves the right-shifted pedal problem:
Though it seems a bit bizarre that the right pedal extends out from the crank arm, probably giving it an unreasonable Q-factor.
Bafang and Tongsheng leave the problem for users to deal with. Have any other mid-drive motor makers thought this through?
