and the trick of securing it to the adjustment wheel is great (assuming of course that you don't need to turn and adjust the knob too often after it's installed!)

Eheh, yeah, But in fact there's no need to adjust the wheel so often and since the turn radius is so small, even then, the tripwire eventually just needs a very minimal tune or ,the worst case, one needs to pull out the tripwire end from the wheel's slot, that costs 10 seconds.....
