Chris Cornell does a version of Whole Lotta Love, great old song won me as a fan of Zep 30 odd years ago, also a Soundgarden Audioslave and Temple of the dog fan, a good track to use for biking is one that dogman used in one of his death race vids, Acid King's 2 Wheel Nation a bit grungy Zep style

 ahh you have been caught either that or you have been watching jays vids with the sound down  check his last ride video

Yeah silly dingo, that's how we came to be talking about this in the first place

Aaaaanyway, here's another vid!
This will be my last for a bit (unless I sift through some old footage) as the rain looks set in for a while and I'm going to use the down time to sort out my commuter.

This was the last of the good weather from a week ago, a blazing golden sunset commute. Looks pretty on video but is potentially lethal riding on the road around cars that have a much lesser chance of seeing you with the bright light in their eyes. At a few points I was riding with my head pointed at the stem of the bike and just looking up at the road though a 10mm slit between the rim of my visor and bottom of the sun on the horizon

More Social D on this one :)

Great Stuff Man, I enjoy watching the videos you put up. I wish I would found your site or videos before I built my 66cc bike (http://youtu.be/YrSv7oXl4eM). I would have gone electric over here in France, so much quieter. I am always looking over my shoulder for the police. These engines are not legal here. Once I scrape up enough money, I will send it your way for the special kits you put together. Thanks again.

Pete

Thanks Pete.
Looks like a nice place to ride, I'm not surprised you're worried about the le boys in blue with that engine.
I'm happy to help sort you something out when you're ready - these kits won't be too legal either but atleast no one will hear you coming or going :)

I appreciate it....I have had to hit the kill switch a few times and start pedaling. Like you said, with the electric they won't hear me coming or going. So, the more power the better. :D

oh you pussy! I dare you blast any LEO (Law Enforcement Officer) and I am not afraid if they tried stop me. Hell, I have done ton times and cops are most lazy.

I don't feel like getting the bike confiscated for riding on the paths. That will change once I go electric. By the way, I am what I eat

Pete

Oh, I didn't know that they do ebike confiscated in aussie. Here in USA, They usually just give you ticket and you show up and face the judge. Usually give you small fines that's all.

I'm in France and the bike is gas powered. I doubt I would have any problems with a souped up electric. The French suck even with their electric laws. The motor can only assist while peddling, it cannot propel the bike alone.

Well I have gone and done it!! kerching, found an Ebay seller selling the GoPro HD Motorsports HERO for a very reasonable price a good 70 pounds cheaper than Amazon so all in its only slightly more expensive than it would have been getting it from the states.

So Deec what you waiting for, there are 3 left 8)

bike before cam mate, but nice find none the less  Im looking forward to some quality footage now.
Im wondering if you really need a 32GB card for it? battery life is supposedly 2.5 hours, i know my flip does 2 hours continous and its only 8GB (720p admittedly) but can you get away with a 16GB ?? Greg Jay?

D

:p

Yes I am pleased, I almost went for a contour HD as they look like a great camera as well, may get one of them for a rear facing cam  you are right on the card, I have a nice 16GB card already that should be fine, I dont intend to do much at 1080P will most likely shoot at 720 60fps like the others which should mean the card is fine.

I also got the tubular bar mount so I can lock it to the bars or seatpost, I have some cool ideas for a few videos after watching loads of them on Vimeo just search for gopro on Vimeo and there are some amazing ones, I like the tricopter footage looks amazing.

I have wanted one of these cameras since way back when I saw Dermots ride footage from Oxford, the quality and wide angle perspective the main selling point for me, the Contour is also a great camera and a bit cheaper, I liked its design but I want to chest mount the camera something thats going to be awkward with the contour and not to mention a little dangerous (being impaled by your video camera might make good footage if you live to upload it  )

There are some nice woods not far from me that I have spotted recently with some nice trails in, If I backpack the batteries the Trek will be fine to razz about in there for my first video.

I also picked up the new videostudio X4 package from Corel, looks great there are loads of extras and filters and templates which should help spice things up a bit too, I am going to link the batteries up to make 72V 5ah and chase a moped for a mile or so  just got to sit in town and wait for them to come back to their bike ( coffee and doughnuts anyone  ) Steve Head so nearly nailed a couple years ago I remember watching it thinking go on son! ha ha.

Yeah but you can't hear them yelling at you to stop while they're chasing you

Nice work on the purchase Knoxie - no excuse for not posting top quality videos twice a week now :p
And yeah X4 is what I currently use for editing.

Deec, 16gb is probably plenty. That's what I use and the only time I fill it is if I let a few days commute bank up. If you make a habit of downloading your clips everytime you go on a long ride you'll be fine. Also 720p /30 fps is alot smaller on the file size and for general stuff that quality is fine. You dont get the really wide angle with 1080p so I typically shoot in 720 anyway, and if its just general stuff I dont want to slow down for slo mo 30fps is fine and you'll get hours worth on a 16gb card

sounds good to me chaps, i must have a 16GB SD? card in one of our still cameras somewhere....mmmmmmm.
Holding on until i know my wife hasnt got me one for my bday, then i'll pounce, what i really need to do is fix my dual drive hub and get it on ebay, that would more or less pay for it once i get a replacement whatevers broken inside :)
Im really debating what to do with my RC gear too, i got my clutch from Matt the other day and im itchin to put it all on a new bike but my hubbie is going to cost me and i need to re-coup, mmmmm decisions decisions.

Thanks for the advice jay, sat out with my bike 15 miles from home enjoying the sun, found those woods they are fun however I am sat up here at Burton Dasset hills which are much more fun should make for some great video, should get it wed next week. Typing this up on my Droid time to hit the road only got a pass out for 2 hours used 4 amp hours getting out 4 left ha ha.

Time to make a fast charger mate, and find somewhere to bludge from free power
Everywhere I go now I'm like a bank robber casing a job or a spy doing recon, always on the look out for powerpoints

I found a pumping station out in the middle of nowhere in the bush where I often ride and it has a 3 phase outlet. I'll need to make a 3 phase adaptor plug for my charger and see if it has any juice on it. If it does, happy days! I found another abandoned rangers hut type thing in another location that had a power line coming in and a socket on the wall outside and I took my charger along in the hope that it'd work but no go unfortunately.

Hyena, show us your portable charger set up with a pic. Mine are not very portable but I need to change that
