I need help with a problem on my bafang bbs01-b mid drive please help

G'day guys iv got a problem with my bbs01-b 250w 4 months ago I got the kit and it was a load of fun than about 4weeks later it stopped working so I bought a new controller and it came back to life but than it stopped again 2 weeks ago so I ordered a new controller and changed it over 3 days ago than I rode down to the shops only 4km away and when I got back on the bike leaving the car park the motor stopped and I pedal afew meters than the power came back on but only half the power with a noisy grunting sound and once I stopped the throttle it wouldn't go again than it came back on after a km or so with maximum throttle still grunting and making a noise and when I got home I lifted the bike off the ground and UNpluged and reconnect every wire to see if I had a dodgy wire but that didn't work either and the motor wouldn't start than I spun the chain ring backwards and than I was able to start the motor till I stopped the power than I had to spin the chainring backwards again to get the motor started going again has anyone come across this problem I'm baffled to what the problem is
 
Your a champion thanks mate so when you change the stator did you also need to change the controller or did it still work reason I ask is because iv had this problem 3 times now and iv replaced the controller every time so iv got a few spare controller's lol. it would be great if they still work and save some money not buying another one
 
Make yourself a paper tube of drawing paper with the outer diameter of the rotor and practice inserting the rotor at the old stator without cracking the magnets or shattering the Hall sensors. If the magnets are damaged, at least apply some nail polish there to protect them from corrosion.
You might need leather gloves, the rotor is hard to handle as soon as it comes close the stator.
 
How do you check the capacitor I'm afraid to dig out the silicone that I might nick a wire or something wouldn't it be easier to connect it to the new stator or would that blow the stator again
