kiloton electric bicycles

These guyz I take it:
http://kilotonbikes.com/

Looks like pretty standard Yongkang stuff...

Compare their "Fleet" folder for example:

Not sayin' Kiloton are buying from Getbikes but there'll be dozens or hundreds of China co's offering these styles of bikes and labeling them as the importer wishes...

I find it amusing when Getbikes say:
All our parts are chosen from various manufacturers, especially manufacturers from Taiwan area.

... when they are surrounded in Yongkang by hundreds of companies all making parts for bikes.

I must say I find Getbikes representative on Alibaba, Mr. Mike Zhang, strangely attractive:

Guess somebuddy told him(?) western guys are attracted to mellons...

Ya really just have to trust Kiloton, that they have sourced a fair supplier and they are not importing complete crap. A 90 day warranty is kinda lame but not uncommon...

Wonder watt LiFePO4 cells they are using that claim 2000 cycles? Pretty good for LiFePO4, if true...

Kiloton have kept their prices down w/a lower wattage rated motor(?) and controller and smaller battery pack and no cargo rack.

I see the kilotonbikes URL was registered in September, 2010... They might be new to the biz. Ask to see their repair facilities and spare parts inventory.

Good luck

Whats up fellas? Figured since no one could find much on this line, i visited their store in brooklyn yesterday! Its a small bike shop but set up well and they have all models on floor also locks and other add ons. The owner johnny is a good guy, answers all questions and seemed like a cool guy. Alright on to the bike... I test drove the two mountain bike styles with the 350 motors. Both are near identical except one did not have disc brakes and has the older look mud gaurds, while the kt350 has the disc brake and cool looking mudgaurds...in my opinion! Iv test rode a few eg bikes and a pedeco with a 350 watt motor previosly, so i have something to gauge from. Ok rode a few blocks and i can say that this bike really does ride real nice! Twist throttle mode gets you going good and is pretty responsive to every small twist you make. The pedal assist mode also kicks in after about 3 to 4 pedals and its like riding downhill on level or even slightly raised streets. Long story short i bought the kt350 for 1200 and i am very happy because it honestly outperformed the 350 pedeco that was going for 1500 or 1600! The bike has lifepo4 batteries 350watt motor, disc brakes and all other comparable stuff from the more expensive brands and i could go ride it first and they have a nice store and do repair work also. Lastly i had caught a bus to nyc then a train to brooklyn and asked on phone if he could charge a battery so that if i liked the bike i wouldbuy it and planned to ride it back to port athority near times sqaure nyc. He had my battery ready to go,purchased the bike and walked off the showroom floor and rode it every bit of the 12 miles it took to get there like a breeze. This my first ebike and i must say i love this bike. Its only been a couple days now but no problems and if it remains reliable icant see buying a different brand for the money. Now ive never posted on a bike board because im not really a biker i just liked the idea of ebike so was looking for one. I figured this quick review of a kiloton bikes was neede because i could not find no reviews on it. Also the guy johnny was a cool guy and i hope this will help others buy from him because it was really an easy going experience and i like to see good people make out good tooo! Peace

No problem, excuse me being an arse.

It did sound as if the shop seller had made the post pretending to be a customer lol.... and it was your first post :D

Like the others say, stick around... it's a great community here and people fall over backwards to help others.

Hey no big deal, i just figured to put it up to help someone in my shoes! But i guess it coul have sound a little like that. I just got it to commute pretty local and to go to the gym and such. Where i live itsreal hilly and by the time i get to the gym im aready done workedout! Maybe one day i can afford the expensive ones but i figured if someone was on the ropes about getting a cheaper chinese bike so far all things been good...but its only been a couple of days so we will see! If i have some questions or bad or good things to say i will post it. Peace

Big. Glad you're enjoying your new bike. I bought an RMartin last year and still happy with it. Yeah, heard from a number of guys I should have bought a DIY kit and saved some money but with limited time and a very short summer, wanted a reliable bike--ready made so all I had to do was charge and go. Enjoy your new bike--hope you get many trouble free miles. My RMARTIN has 900+ miles and still runnning great. Also, don't forget even though your bike is an electric bike it's still a bike. Bikes shops can always work on the brakes, gear shifter etc without having to fiddle with the electric components. Enjoy your bike!!!!!!!!! One other thing, don't forget safety: Helmets, lights can be a life saver. Protect your head!

Understand that we kind of have a spam / shameless self promotion situation on here since eBikes are still kinda new and burgeoning ( to the west anyway ).

Sorry for the improper welcome.
