I am thinking about going 45 inches+... Who here has the longest electric skateboards on here? How long is too impractical for carving roads and mixed use on sidewalks in urban settings? Thanks!

A Friend of mine is making one and yesterday he went too the timber shop and got some hard plywood and he shaped sanded and cut a board 44 inches big it feels like a good size too be honest it sort of looks like a mini surfboard he has no trucks on it yet but we have been messing about puting stuff under it pretending too carve hahah the actual size seems good though tbh :D easy too chuck under your arm too if your not that small

I guess my two main concerns are high centering on bumps/crests in the road and the turning radius. Physically handling it is not too big of a concern since I am used to handling larger boards anyways like surfboards, kiteboards, etc. I think the increased wheelbase and added security at higher speeds as well as extra room for more batteries are what seem sexiest to me about it. Anyone currently riding one right now and prefer it?

I have an evolve carbon which is actually 45" tip to tip.

If you do go with a deck this long, make sure you use double jointed trucks. The evolve has them and it makes cornering in urban setting way better, almost better than single jointed trucks in terms of turning radius.

I ride a 46" pintail and it cruises really well. My average speed is about 15mph and it handles the speed just fine, it wobbles ever so slightly at 25mph. Carving is a blast, but its cornering abilities are limited by the motor mount.

Ya, I've got an Arbor 46 inch pintail,and it's a blast.

Basically everything that mfkubak said, except I don't really get that mich speed wobble

Wow. That looks like a ton of fun... especially the 'trick' around 1:20, haha. Those are some crazy tight turns he is making. I wonder how many shins he has taken out riding in such crowded areas.
