Hi everybody I’m looking for a cheap and small dc dc converter 48>12v to be able to charge my iPhone and eventually adding some lightning rear and front.

I already own a BBSHD and a battery 48v 14,4ah 691wh 13s8p cellules Sanyo with BMS 60A connected with XT60.

What does I need to do it ? Split my xt60 I guess add a converter dc dc 48>12v add a female USB and two wire for light is that all ?

As I’m not very found of electricity any help will be greatly appreciated

USB power is 5V. 12V converters are doing a different job.

You could, if you must, wire a 12V car USB converter into your 12V converter. But maybe consider using stationary USB chargers for that, and using your bike as a bike.

Yeah had similar thoughts but thats just more components that will require securing to the bike and weatherproofing.
And dont forget to weather seal every wire end connection too..

perhaps a powerbank to charge the phone and generic bike lights powered by rechargeable aa cells??

Since you have an idea of what you’ll be powering, do some math to determine the requirements. Then you can do a search for a 12v dc-dc buck converter that can supply that requirement. 12v is a good voltage for lighting options, and there are several accessories that are compatible with 12v. Here is an example, probably more than you need (20A).

For your USB as well as having 12v available for other needs, you can add something like this, which will allow many 12v accessories to just plug into the 12v socket.

Just about the same thing I use for 12 volts but I think mine is this one. My old Bafang C10 display from my BBSHD provides USB power.

I wired one of these from my 12v dc converter. I figured I was going to dock my phone while riding. May as well have it charging too.

As for the lighting, you can just tap into the wires coming from the 12dc converter….assuming they are 12v lights. Then again, a usb port may be better for that if you plan on having seasonal lighting.
