This is my first ebike build but not my first motorcycle build. So learning new stuff while also pulling old stuff from my hat.
I received this bike in a trade for another ebike I was going to restore. Got a huge bundle of parts, with the some questionable "mods" but it gave me a nice head start.
The first thing to address was the tree. It had standard pit bike parts jammed through a MTB bearing set and was horribly carved up. Definitely not safe to ride.
Ordered the exact tree so I could have a safe start and machine the center stem the way it should have been with 44mm cup races.
The previous owner had some ridiculous cafe racer seat, which I actually would have kept if it wasn't some of the worst welds I have ever seen and it also scorched the powdercoat something fierce. I also welded some drop out clamps as extra insurance for the wheel not to fall out or spin.
This was really the most difficult part, froze the races, torched the headset tube and they dropped in, test fit everything, then stripped it all back down, all the way. I sandblasted everything and gave it some C6 Corvette PPG.
Once it was all cured I reassembled everything with an enduro seat.
The slow boat arrived with my powertrain parts. Surringmax 50h 5000w motor laced into a 17" moto wheel and Sabvoton 72150 controller. Nothing groundbreaking here but got a great deal on everything. Had to lathe some spacers to protect the wires and fill in the gaps.
This is where I currently am while I print some parts and wait for my battery to arrive. Any input, tips or the like are appreciated.
