Hi all,
I just picked up a set of Marzocchi bomber JrT Extreme double crown downhill forks.

They are 2002 model and in great shape but looks like they need new seals as they're leaking oil from one of the top seals.

I got a price of around $200 AU to get them serviced with new seals.

They have 30mm stanchions, which are a bit uncommon now but I can get a seal kit.
I figure I can save quite a bit doing it myself with a seal kit and some fork oil.

Have any of you guys serviced a set of forks like these?
Is it difficult or should I just go for it?
Thanks :D

Easy service, old Marz forks are very simple.
Manual still available to download in many languages
This fork, like most Marzocchi, can be mod to Air spring using parts that are still available today.

I'll give it a go, I think I'll keep them oil for now

I have those Junior T 2006 models I think and they are perfect even though not serviced by me at all since bought used. Kinda guess mine are at 4000km

They are good old technology. That's the way "it" is supposed to be, reliability :D

That's what I was thinking, they just look really well made.
I've ordered a seal kit, I'm sure they'll be awesome again when that's done
Thanks

i have an old marzocchi drop-off dual-crown. primitive damper by today's standards. but i love the open-bath design. very simple, the same oil lubricates everything. it isn't leaking yet but i've purchased these seals just in case:

I'm waiting for the kit to arrive I had to order it from U.S. New old stock from Ebay.
Happy to document the rebuild. I might do a vid for my YT channel

Hey guys

I have everything I need to do the service on these forks. I may need your help 😁

I got enduro seals as I could not find originals.
Marzocchi specs 7.5wt oil, I have 7wt, so should be fine.

This is the manual I dug out of the bowels of the internet

Thanks

Apart from the oil being filthy, I doubt these have ever been serviced, I have only found this little plastic washer is a little squashed and has a crack.
Anyone know if this matters or should I just put it back in??
