I'm in the US (Naperville, IL) again at the moment, a friend has a couple of deeply-discounted DeWalt packs for me to carry home to the UK after the weekend.

Another friend is flying into the UK carrying another couple shortly.

Looks like I'll be able to start final assembly of my 48V 15AH pack next month.

Then it'll be time to hunt down a Puma motor...

Hi Dermot

Hey you globe trotter!! nice to hear from you, the new Pumas are flying out on Monday, the controllers at the end of June! dont know if they have front ones but these are the more beefy ones tested at 72V and working, they are officially rated at 750W but well you know we will squeeze more out of them than that!!

Good to hear from you and yes cant wait to see how that A123 pack performs! Maybe mark needs to think of a new name, if the old ones were Pumas these ones must be called the sabres!! ha ha, keep an eye out on here as I will be testing one at 72V and DC will be running one in the woods as well if it all goes well.

Enjoy your stay in the states, bet they have never seen and Englishman as tall as you!!

cheers

Really? Excellent news knoxie..must get 1 reserved" (think I am the longest waiting customer @ 2 years!) Edit...Spoke to mark, one promised here:) I'll be testing up to 84v too in the KMX:) Were these the slightly slower per volt model Paul? Or is that still unknown?
Well done on the a123 cells too Dermot! Good luck with the pack:)

Me wanders off happier than b4,
Steve

Hi Jozzer

No these are specially uprated ones Mark has had custom Made for him, the stator has been re-made, a thicker gauge wire has been fitted and there have been a number of other mods. cant wait to try one myself!! Its not the slower one that was made for the US market its an uprated version of the BMX one, which is a tough motor.

Greetings from sunny Illinois - a mere 95degF yesterday.

Cool!

Can you reserve one for me? Front hub by preference, but rear if that's the only option. Sounds as if they'll be going fast.

cheers,

DD
