OK - I've been using Anderson PowerPole PP120 connectors for a while as I need something that can handle a minimum of 120 amps for use with 6 or 8 AWG stranded wire.

I was already appalled with the price but the company who I was buying from suddenly became very dick-ish. They shipped me the wrong product. When I said "no worries, these things happen" they said I should put in a new order at my expense. Done with them...

There aren't many suppliers of these connectors and those who do are pricey.

I'm just looking for a good quality connector that will take 120 amp with 8 or 6 AWG wire at a fair price. I hope it's not too much to ask.

Anyone have any sources? preferably where I can buy in lower quantities?

Cheers all....and thanks

i don't have any other soultions in mind, but what company was it? always nice to know who to avoid doing business with to prevent getting screwed over.

as far as these connectors go, powerwerx, newark, mouser, andersonpower, etc all carry them
http://www.google.com/search?q=anderson+pp120
but i know of nowhere that has andersons cheap. :(

(i recycle my sb50s and such off of ups and powerchair stuff)

It was Powerwerx. I never had any previous bad experience with them and don't know of others who have so I wont be so crass as to slander them here. All I can say is that in this instance they made the error and later wouldn't make it right. For this and out of principal I just can't keep dealing with them. I really get my back up when I'm asked to pay for someone else's mistake. I always pay for my own.

I'm not so much looking for cheap Anderson's, but rather an altogether different alternative. I've seen knock-off Anderson's and want to steer clear of them.

Does Anderson not have any legitimate competitor in this 100+amp class of connectors?

If not then perhaps I'm in the wrong business...

Thanks

The larger xt and ec connectors can take 8awg wire, and will be ok for the amps. Heres a link to some on epbuddy.

Staying with Anderson connectors. Rosspar in Pickering, ON has everything one could need and more. Highly recommend.

Screw connectors and just hard wire. Frequent disconnections of big wire is begging for failure. The only connector truly required is probably a big ring connector at the battery fuse. Do yourself a big favor and build your system so you leave everything connected all the time.

Heh! Not a fan of APP I see....Definitely agree that disconnecting should be kep to a minimum. Bu sometimes you gotta.
