new 50amp crystalyte controller?

Anyone talked to Justin lately at ebike.ca?

I received an email after inquiring about their controllers. He mentioned a 50a controller coming with 4110's. Sweet! I think I'm going to hold out for this one!

I think he was trying to get the factory to install 4110's during assembly.

I think Tim Obrien at PowerPack Motors was trying to do the same.

That would sure beat having to replace existing FETs.

I did, but not about controlers, batteries, he said they were testing other chemistries incl prismatic designs and there will be more styles available for sale soon.

Glad to hear about a higher amp controler though, *fingers crossed*

Yup, Justin told me they were coming in already done, and he was expecting them in a few weeks (he told me this a few weeks ago, so anytime now I guess)
Untill teamhybred gets a stock of the new puma controller that knoxie was trying out, these will be the best off the shelf controllers for the Puma (at ANY voltage above about 36v,)

Cool.. Kenny finally gave in, i was supposed to get a few when i ordered by he changed his mind and i only got the 20's and 40's..

The problem with 50 amp controllers is with the batteries used, Lithium makes 50 amps possible but forget NIcad and Nimh and SLA unless you get into large AH packs.. ie: 20ah +

Pop a small "preset" pot inside the controller and dail the current back to the batteries limit. If you sell them, make sure NOT to tell the customer how to turn it back up

Yeah, I already told Justin to put me on the waiting list. I'm going to get the 50amp and the cycle analyst pre-calibrated for it. Then i can adjust the amperage back to what i can use with my batteries that i have now, and when the time comes to replace them, I can look at possibly uping the amps then.

Unfortunately, They don't have a waiting list, but he said to get back with them around the 23rd to see if they have it by then.
