looks like just what I was needing. have you tried it out? I have the headlight and I like it a lot.

Available at Goeman for those that prefer to order from there

I really wish I could get one without a battery like you can get the headlights maybe eventually. It looks like it has a much better viewable angle then the red flashlights I picked up on dealextreme a while back.
I really hope it is a long flash and a quicker flash not a siezure inducing flash and an sos.. pretty please!

$30 with $4 First Class shipping to me is an incredible deal for a 3W tail light!

Thanks for the tip.

30 bucks for the light, and y cable to split my Magicshine headlight power. too cheap to pass up. I'll post a review when I get it. BTW, got it from Geomangear, who normally ships faster then DX.

Ok looks good so I feel a little relief.. Review over at MTBR. Wish they had one with daylight pics/video because that is where the crap is. Any light works at night.

Whee I'm going to have a dual setup liek at the bottom.

Looks pretty nice. Good price, too. If I do a bike that needs good looks, that combined with some chrome motorcycle turn signals would look spiffy. :)

Since I don't care about appearances nearly as much as cost vs functionality, I'll still stick with my motorcycle LED taillights; they certainly work well enough even in daylight so far, though I am looking into a contrast-enclosure for them to make the brake lighting even more obvious in daylight. :p

Halfway thru this post shows those turn signals and one of the taillights:

I like http://www.ebikes.ca/lights/ from ebike. I have the 8 with the button. It will take a wide range of voltages. It is bright and draws a modest amount of juice. Easy to install. Bullet proof and idiot proof. I run it off my battery off of my 12v converter. I have it in the on position so when I plug it together the blinker is on. It also has on/off.

You know....I've been using a $6 LED trailer light from wal-mart for months now.....
I've returned every single LED trailer light I've bought at walmart and autozone. Last one I bought was last year so perhaps they finally got better but all the ones I ever had from $6 to $39 were never very visible during the day. Night they were great but daytime they just weren't that visible next to my old dinotte 4xAA and forget it next to two of them in uzi blink.
I'm hoping the magicshine will be usable in daytime. The dinotte's are great but for some reason on hot 105+ days out in the sun they seem to die after a few 8-12 hour rides swapping through a few sets of batteries. They stand behind their product and will repair them after I return them without cost but them I'm out a light for a couple weeks and I've now swapped 5 of them back (the same pair multiple times) and have 2 more dead which I haven't returned yet.

why would you want them to be visible during the day? ermmm that would be a bright frikin light!
Why wouldn't you want your light visible during the day?
I want to be visible during the day 8)
It does not at all take the place of defensive riding and situational awareness but it's worth it to me to be riding down anywhere from a 45mph to a 70mph speed limit road and look into my mirrors to seeing cars move over long before they get to me to pass. With how distracted people are the more distances they can see you from the more chance you give them to handle the situation properly. I've have had enough people in anywhere from another bicycle during a 200 or 600k where I was tiring out to a car/suv/tractor trailer mention how far they could see me away and the motor vehicles thank me for being so visible because they could actually see me far off rather then at the last second.

All other vehicle's lights are daylight visible; why wouldn't you want yours to be? ;)

FWIW, you could easily make a day/night switch to cut brightness down at night, on almost any light. The bike computer/control system I wanted to make a while back would have done this automatically, to prevent blinding people with any of the lighting on totally dark roads or paths, but automatically brightening the lights in more well-lit areas for better contrast to stand out and be seen.

Well, you are , after all, the "EvBlazer"

I kinda like your thinking myself.
I have a light that is easily visible in daylight but I usually only turn it on in the rain (during the day)
I might start turning it on anyway everyday, it can't hurt to be more visible.

Has anyone received their MS Tail LIght yet? I'm dying to know how it really works.

Thanks,
Ambrose

I agree with the brightness during the day/night needs to be different for others. I've followed my wife when she runs her dual high powered lights blinking away and it overwhelms me and I can't see. Unless I'm out on a 70mph country road 30 miles from no where I will usually put them on medium and blink a simple superflash on the country road Ill put one on a less aggressive very slow blink instead of the on/off uzi strobe.

I should get mine tommorow. I posted a link to the mtbr forum further up but there wasn't much there.

I got mine today. it's pretty awesome.

here's a pic of both the cat-eye 3 led and the magicshine, in a well lit room. both of them are on on the bike, then both are about 2 feet from a well lit wall.

That looks like it has a promising amount of spread! The whole wall is red. One of the problems I had on my current DX red cree dropins and many other lights is they were too focused so on one I had to put a lend on in reverse to get it to be more visible from the side and then one remains visible for far away.

What I'd really love is to find some of those new audi a8 front and rear led running lights in the junkyard.

Well for all the advances in LEDs I think they are keeping them all to the white lights.
Just one persons opinion based on what I have
Dinotte 140l
Magicshine Taillight
.
Deal Extreme Red Cree Dropins
.
.
.
Superflash or properly aimed cherry bomb
Cateye 1100, 1000

The outer ring of small leds is interesting but it's like putting a superflash right next to a dinotte. Sure it's there but you can't see it when the bright light is on. The strobe inner bright led a few times then strobe outer mini led(s?) a few times really is like a strobe inner bright led a few times followed by a long pause then strobe inner bright led.

The main light doesn't have as wide of a spread nor is it at any point as bright as the dinotte on high actually I think it almost matched perfectly with the dinotte on medium or low which is what I"ll normally run them at when it gets dark. I think the difference is the dinotte has a really good lens and the magicshine doesn't.
Another comment on the dinotte vs the magicshine here.
http://forums.mtbr.com/showpost.php?p=7072261&postcount=34

So if you are looking for something brighter than a superflash I think it is a good bang for the buck at least after 10 minutes of testing. The flash isn't some vomit inducing super high flash rate that the deal extreme cree dropins have with an ultra narrow beam so that is good.
I won't be getting rid of my wifes dinottes anytime soon though. After all these years it's still the brightest most visible bicycle taillight i've gotten or seen in person but it's getting caught up to although they have a dual led taillight available from dinotte already.

When I get access to a camera I'll take them outside and take some pics from across the yard during the day. I'm going to go on a 40 mile ride with a group now so if we get a nice thunderstorm and the lights go on they'll get a nice wet weather test and I can get some feedback from other riders.
