I have been learning alot from this forum for some time and felt I was ready to build my own E-Bike.

The BBS02 750W with 48V looked like the right choice for me in the hilly area I live in. I ordered the motor and battery from em3ev.com and everything went together great. I had limited space for the battery, so the water bottle mounts on the underside of the downtube came in handy.

I just wanted to thank everyone for the great information available here that made my project a success. The first time I took the bike out for a long ride, I found I couldn't stop laughing as this motor blew away the 250w bike I had been riding.

I found an unused 2012 XL size Santa Cruz Nickel frame that was listed on the Pinkbike website. I wanted the tapered head tube and still get the std bottom bracket.

With the swingarm design this frame has, I didn't have to worry about interferance between the motor and the chainstay like some have mentioned .

The Battery pack is the 46.8v from EM3EV. I had to remove part of the Battery mounting bracket in order to have some clearance with the motor. I get about 20 miles range at 26mph on level 5 of the 9 PAS modes available.

The Battery Pack is mounted to the bottom of the down tube with two screws ( see the bottom pic ), using the second set of water bottle mounting holes that just happened to be there, and a couple of straps for now. I will make a custom Battery support bracket to do away with the straps when I get the time.

I bought the parts over a four year period mostly because I couldn't decide on what kind of motor to use. So the bike is a 2011-12-13-14 year model.

I stop pedaling when I shift to avoid crunching the gears, which is a pain, so I need to make a cutoff switch either in the brake lever or shifter. Other than that the bike is a blast to ride.
