I know i would like to upgrade to 36v and li-ion battery. How is this battery? http://www.ebay.com/itm/2012Newest-36V-10Ah-Li-ion-Water-Kettle-Battery-with-BMS-Board-Charger-/230846994698?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item35bf8d990a
Can you recommend a compaitble 36v controller? I have a 10 mile commute to work and I would like to average 20mph. Im fine if I need to replace the throttle. Thanks.

Look through drkangel's posts as he has done a ton of work with E-zips and lithium batteries.

how about this battery? http://www.bmsbattery.com/36v/475-36v-15ah-lithium-ion-electric-bicycle-battery-pack.html
I dont mind charging at work

15 ah should be plenty of capacity for that ride. Big is good, because as the battery ages it will diminish in capacity. So with that one you should have enough later on down the road.

Do charge at work if at all possible. The shallower your cycles, the more of them you get.

20 ah would be the choice for the 20 mile round trip without charging.

And with BNSBattery, check how high the shipping charges are. High ....

As far as the controller and throttle, I just ordered these and they just plug right in...

I'd buy the plastic box off you without the heavy SLA batteries inside

Hey Matt,

I'm going to post my extra parts in the Items for Sale - Used section.

Hoping to sell the rear rack and both battery boxes together.

I ordered that exact same controller you listed and the currie 36v throttle to go with it. It all was plug and play. The overcharge protection plug does not need to be plugged in for the controller to work fyi. I added a third 10ah 12v battery for $23 i got off ebay and a 36v currie charger for $14. All together the 36v conversion cost about $90 and its definitely worth it. Speed is much better! Ill see what the range is like tomorrow.

I used an old camera bag I had laying around for the third battery. It fits perfectly! I had to bypass the stock fuse so I gotta pick up and inline fuse holder form the auto parts store tomorrow.
