Noon on IMAX charge

I was trying out a IMAX 6 skyrc charger on a lead gel battery to see if I've understood the manual.
All I get is an err message "connection disruption ". I am using the red and black jacks going to the battery.
What an I doing wrong?

How much voltage has that SLA battery when you connected it?

It has about 6volts

Maybe a shorted cell is it a 12 volt.
A 12v sla battery has 6 two volt cells.

Yes it is a 12 volt cell. I'll try it in another cell and see if it changes.
