Hey guys, so I have posted a few questions on here to get an idea of the route I want to take with my e-board. After a little bit of lurking I begin to purchase some parts. So far here is my part list.

Motor: Tacon Big Foot 160 245kV
ESC: Hobbywing XERun 150A Limited Edition Blue
Motor Mount: DIYES Welded Mount
Gearing: 36T/15T Pully Kit from Enertion
Battery: Two(2) Zippy Flightmax 5000mAh 3S1P 20C
Controller: SkyRC GT2B
Deck: Bustin Boards (Not Sure of Specific One)
Wheels: Abec Flywheel Blanks from Ebay
Bearings: Abec 7 Ebay Bearings
Belts: 2 HandMeDown HTD5's
Trucks: Bear Grizzley's
Accessories: Ebay Voltage Display

I'm almost done with my board but will need to buy a controller before I can test it. What do you guys think?

Yep I believe it is the older one it has a small kick tail. Does anyone have any advice on the dimple I made for the set screw? I didn't want to do an entire flat spot so I just did this. Don't see why it shouldn't work. I painted everything and cleaned it up today.

Main question of the day:

I want to get a lipo alarm but don't want to have to keep unplugging and plugging in every ride. Since it hooks straight to the battery it will be on all the time. Is there a way around this?

U could set the low voltage cut-off on the esc to 3.3 or something and also set the watt meter to 3.4 giving u warning of the coming shut-down
Using a plug on voltage detector will suck juice and possibly imbalance the cell. I'd just keep what u have and use them. It won't give u individual cell Volage but as long as you have the overall and u balance charge enough sounds fine

You can wire a watts amp or similar to your setup and check the numbers. Usually no alarm but you have a read out of your voltage and battery specs. HobbyKing has one for $15 bucks.

Ahhh I understand. Well I have this Turnigy 2 in 1 Power Meter. I'll just stick to this. So if my minimum voltage per cell is 3.3V, and I am running 6S, then my voltage should not go below (6x3.3) 19.8V?

Hey guys, I have a question. I didn't end up buying the sky lipo battery and I can't decide what is the perfect battery for me.

Should I run a single 6S battery or 2 3S batteries in series?

What mah rating and discharge rate would be good for my setup?

This seems like a good deal but only has a 10C discharge rate.

I personally prefer two 3s in series vs one 6s - usually thinner and lower profile.

You really don't now what your usage in Amps will be until it's built. I usually try to overbuild the C / Amp the battery can provide because if you over-draw your battery's ability to provide Amps it will greatly decrease the battery life. So i target around 100A constant amp capacity, and hope to use 1/2 or less of that.

So a 5000mAh battery back at 20c will give you a 100A constant. That would be my target in mAh and C.

If you are a lighter weight guy, riding the flats, or even a single motor only, perhaps you can get a lower C rating... But higher draw = heat, and heat = shorter battery life. Not that you can't buy a stupid expensive 60+C battery and have it fail... that still happens, but i'd try for 100A target range (burst will usually be 1.5 to 2x the constant).

HTH - GL!

Thanks sl33py!

I went ahead and purchased 2 of these:

http://www.amazon.com/ZIPPY-Flightmax-5000mAh-3S1P-20C/dp/B0072ADJ4K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1448293911&sr=8-1&keywords=20c+5000mah+zippy

and 1 of these:

http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-SKYRC-Power-6Amps-50Watts/dp/B00ND7J38C/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1448293932&sr=8-11&keywords=lipo+charger

Only thing left to buy is a GT2B and some misc. connectors. I also need to pick up a 60watt soldering iron. My 30watt isnt cutting it.

Hi Stuxtruth, Nice build ! Newbie here ... I'm looking at using the same Bear Trucks as you, did you have to grind the axle down to get the Motor mount to fit ? Since it is welded , is it difficult to get the motor Mount to the exact position ? What motor Gear are you using , are they universal and fit on any wheel ?

Thanks !
