Overvolted the "Name that Motor" today

Hot off charger 84 v a lot of fun!

Sorry for the thread hijack (great read tho :D ) ...

This picture: I have similar shunts (really close together) I'm paraniod of adding some solder to the shunts (I believe I add solder to one end at the bottom?) due to them being soooo close together, I feel the solder will flow to the next shunt, I havn't tried yet so i may get lucky, But will it matter if the mate together ??....

Probably easier if you do fill up the gap between them. Start at the loop at the top. Maybe wrap a bit of wire between them to support the solder. Once ahrd, you can always file some away to bring the current back down again

8) Thanks, so it doesn't matter then if you cross the two cool Thanks........

Catchinem, You can have your thread back now, Thanks :D

Not at all..that is the idea..you are trying to reduce the resistance between the start and end points of them. If you look on the under side you will see that they are connected to the same points

Wrap some wire tightly around both with the strands close together., Then solder. Wrap the percentage of the shunts that you want to increase the power. IOW's if you want a 50% increase, take the wrap half way up both shunts.

Glad to see the thread helping out. Thanks all. I went ahead and ordered up some items from Cell_man. Battery pack, controller, charger, program lead, connectors, throttle. On this Trek 6500 build I decided to spare no expense. I have a great idea for the triangle battery housing and a rear rack for light duty hauling. I'm a good woodworker.I live on the beach, here's a hint:

I look forward to seeing the construction of the triangle battery housing. I am never satisfied with mines.

Hey catchimen, any update on this bike? Have you finished it? How does the battery housing look?

My town is full of tourists during the summer and I have 110 condos spread out on 15 acres I have to keep up and running for renters. I'm a busy boy right now. Any spare time and I'm on a kayak out in the Gulf catching BIG FISH!
