No matter what I do I can not get parameter design to run on my computer.
This is the only thing stoping me from riding my BMX
Like seriously why cant we have a download that just works!
Im running XP on this computer
I have put the two programs in the system 32 folder and when ever I try to open parameter design it just says
"Component 'COMDLG32.OXC' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"
I cant get any usb software to unzip on this computer either is just says "file corupt or invalid" !!!!
I have over 8 hours of hell trying to sort this out!!!

Please help!
My computer crashed that I did have this on and I have tried the downloads from the paramter design thread and from methods thread nothing is working!!!

Ok so I got this in email from oldhaq
Thank you so much!!!!
I googled two more ocx files and downloaded them and folowed his instructions.
G'day Arlo,

I've recently put together a package for installing PD.
I'm not sure if you've got the files needed already, so I've attached just the instructions.
Sounds like you still might need to get the .ocx files (or register them), drop me line if you'd like them sent to your email.
It should go onto XP using the same or very similar procedure, I think.

Regards, Rob.
-------------------------------------------------------------

These steps have been tested on a fresh Win 7 32-bit install.

Part A
Copy each (unzipped) .ocx file into Windows/System32 folder.

Run Command Prompt as administrator (Type "cmd" in Start/Search, right-click, Run as Administrator

Enter each of these lines and press enter

regsvr32 COMDLG32.OCX
regsvr32 mscomm32.ocx
regsvr32 richtx32.ocx
regsvr32 MSCOMCTL.OCX

Part B
Install CP-210x and/or PL-2303 drivers

Part C
Insert USB dongle, go to Control Panel/Device Manager/Ports, double-click CP-210x or PL-2303 device, click Port Settings/Advanced. Change the Com Port Number to an unused value between 1 and 5.
Ok all dialogs.

Part D
Run Parameter Designer, when you are ready to program, select the same Com ID as in Part C above.

Regards, OLDHAQ

Now that I have it working I found none of them have anything over a 18fet chip option!! Oh well at least I can try it and with how low the shunt value is on my bord it will be a rocket till I blow it lol.

There's another .exe in that zip I sent you that should have the settings you need.
