I'm hoping to have a mid drive setup ready to go by then. Although for some odd reason I'm tempted to pedal my mtn bike up the damn hill :D .

Who else is gonna ride it?

Average Grade 7%, Max Grade 10.5%...?! Wow. Not to mention the shortened 19.9km route. I have to say I am disappointed.
I have been to the summit and seen that road, so I was highly impressed with ebikes making it all the way from Manitou at a decent clip. But now it appears any old ebike could handle this climb. My current bike would leave last year's winner in the dust with such a short race.
At least it should be a much more competitive... If I am in Colorado in July, I will certainly be riding.

I'll be there obviously :0.. zombiess should be there too.

Optibike desperately needs to be dethroned. I want to show the world that a hill killer can be made on a tiny budget.

Anyone driving from Cali to Pikes peak who would be willing to carry my bike with them? I would love to race it, but I would like to fly in, race, fly home.

I think my bicycle as it sits would be virtually impossible to beat up this hill (unless something burns up, which is always an option. )

You need to be there so you can beat the optibike group twice in the same race. ie 1.5 "laps". If you can finish this weekend's race, you can certainly do the climb without burning up. 100+ accelerations out of curves is certainly more demand on the system than a handful of curves to slow down despite the greater load presented by the hill.

Looks like there isn't a usa cycling category for electrics. It'll have to be the "fun ride" I guess.

The last 3 years haven't been that way - electrics got to participate in the same race as pedal bikes.
I will have to confirm.

If luke comes i guess i'll be taking 3rd or 4th lol..
