I had the same thing, but it only happened on my iPad. Windows desktop and iPhone were fine. I tried rebooting, etc., but nothing worked, the started working on its own the next day.

Just checked PC, all is well there. The symbols highlight when ran over with a tag of what they represent.

That's because it's not highlighted, which requires a mouse.
It otherwise works if things are tapped, right? are you typing replies on your ipad?

Have you checked settings for any ios updates? There was one for my ipad, but it didn't fix the issue immediately, but i did apply it and it started working the next day, so unsure if it was part of the fix.

Nope, no buttons would work, nor the dropdown to save/delete the reply (I wanted to save, then do the attachments on my phone, but no option)

Well, that sucks.

iPads/iPhones don't have any browser debugging abilities and we also don't have a newer one around at the dev shop.
iPads also use a variant of Safari that isn't the same as the desktop version on Mac, so i can't get a Mac and use the debugger there & expect the problem to pop up on Safari on Mac.

if someone could ship me an ipad exhibiting the problem, i could probably fix it. Otherwise i'm out of luck on diagnosing it.
It's probably a browser bug. I would consider trying viewing ES with the chrome or brave browser ( also chrome, but has built in ad blocking that works well ).

I use Chrome on all platforms. All three (iphone, ipad, windows) have different behaviors, even when working, when it comes to the reply window, using chrome on all three; but ipad is most like windows. I almost posted when it happened, but then it started working, so I lost the motivation to type it up.

Rats, no change after the update. Perhaps tomorrow…

WAIT: After poking around on the top buttons, found that the one that looks like brackets, to the left of the floppy disc.
Toggles the others on and off! Whew. Who knew? LOL.

Wow! That was a lot of typing for a simple problem. What I do to fix most all computer confusion. Restart.
