I know everyone here loves Ping, but I'm looking at prices from this guy that seem ridiculously cheep--36V/20ah for $390 delivered.. Anybody put any miles on one of these packs?

Auction link. They're no-name generic LiFePO4 which means there's no way to do research on them. The posted specs are the same as Ping anyway but there is plenty of real-world reports on the Pings so you know what you're getting and you know who you're buying it from.

Of course you can buy one, test it thoroughly and post the results here.

Read the Jimmywu thread and tell me you KNOW this guy is not mr lau. Why of course I trust a guy selling generic cells who calls himself a123.

Ping is still the only one I know of for sure selling prismatic cells in an affordable duct tape pack. The cells are good, the pack construction is good and the customer service is excellent.

If that is still to high, and you want an even less expensive 18650 round cell pack, CammyCC seems to have a good track record. Selling a lot of packs in the last six months, we still don't have a bunch of threads by pissed off buyers from her. He or she seems to be trying to do CS as good as Ping is.

Any vendor can send out a pack that develops a bad cell later, but the reputable vendors will help you . The bad ones will send out a broken and returned pack repeatedly.

Hello I just bought one of these pack yesterday.
Until now, the communication is good.

When it arrives, or from emails, let us know if there is any indication you bought from mr Lau Chan .

On the web site paypal the name shown for the transaction is not mr Lau Chan.

I recieved my battery this week from power_battery_a123 and I just made my first run.
This is a 48v 12Ah and I'm running with a Golden Motor 1000w.
I am very happy with the results because the batterie is very well balanced and it works very well.
When it is charged, each cell is between 3.72V and 3.74V.
I did 25 km without pedaling and it still have some energy.

Looks like my pack right down to the stickers on it. I got a 20AH though.

Yay! Only if you have a problem would you know it was mr lau, who's name would show on some invoices, and on emails. I'm sure he's still out there, but maybe he's begun to test stuff before sending it out. I hope the quality of the batteries is improving, rather than it just being that it's winter. We haven't had so many compaint threads on the forum for a few months.

I guess powerbattery_a123 sent me a 10Ah pack and not a 12Ah.
With the watt's up meter I only measured 9.8 Ah before the BMS cut off the battery. Then I tested each cells and the results are :

they are all at ~2.92v except two at 2.78v and one at 3.01v.

So I don't know if it is a fake 12Ah (but a real 10Ah) or if there are some weaks cells that are limiting the capacity of the whole pack.

Are you just measuring cell groups off the BMS wires? Or did you peel back the duct tape?

I'm curious whether the pack is made from lots of little cells wired together, or fewer but larger cells.

I'm measuring cell groups directly from the BMS wires. But I think the pack is made by a lot of 18650 cells connected together.
