Hi guys,

I have recently received all my new goodies to upgrade my ebike including cycle analyst, ping 24V 20ah battery and Anderson power pole connections (30A).

The cycle analyst has power wires which are 12awg and fit the 30A Anderson power pole connections perfectly. However, the power wires on the new Ping battery are much thicker maybe 10awg and won't fit in the little metal tongue of the Anderson powerpole connector. I try to push the bare wire in the tongue and some of the individual strands of wire don't go in a poke out.

Is there an easy solution for this guys?? I just want to get this rig up and riding.

thanks

Pry open the connector wider to fit in all the strands. Or, cut off some strands until it fits. Or, snip off the blocking portions of the crimp connector and solder the connector (only do this if you are skilled with soldering, otherwise you are asking to wick the wire so it will break off when flexed, or get a cold solder joint which will fail.)

I have the same battery and initialy used the same 30 amps connectors. I just pried them open just a bit with a nail and then soldered the wire/connector instead of crimping it. Don't pry it open too much or use too much solder or the connector won't fit in the plastic case anymore.

I've moved to 45A anderson connectors that are better suited to larger wires and fit in the same plastic casing:

I also use this plastic gizmo to make sure the connectors don't come apart:
