QSMOTOR,0.5-12kW Electric Hub Motor & Mid Drive Motor Manufacture China

Thanks guys for your suggestions!

madin88, I know the theory, but I could not understand why when climbing with the 2 bikes head to head, the 3.5T is consuming more power, has less torque and still the 5T is overheating like crazy compared to the 3.5T even on 2 kw! What I missed out thought might be these phase amps as I was only thinking about the battery power and left the phase amps in Sabvoton settings untouched (probably 350A) which could be the answer? I will test in the next few days anyway.

icherouveim, I have been reading a lot about the different cooling options in the past, but I'm trying to make the motor at least as efficient as the 3.5T one before looking for a solution to cool down the extra heat.

Exactly. 350A would make about 8000W of heat in the windings of the 5T (65mOhm), so no wonder that it is overheating like crazy.
You should reduce the phase amps to 200A or something like that and use a smaller wheel.. btw, what is the wheel size?

cerberpeter said:
It's 18" motorcycle wheel which has a top speed of 70 km/h with the 5T motor (on 72v)

It is very strange for the motor to overheat so fast with only 2kw power! Are you sure that you have run the initial controller setup when you exchange motors? Otherwise everything should be really off with your settings! angles resistance etc. Some guys run this motor at 10Kw of power without any overheating issues.

cerberpeter,
we know your rim size, but would be interesing to find out what you mean by " for climbing on a relatively steep mountain". How steep and how long you climb, on what surface and at what speed? Of course all approximately, roughly; and weight of ev including you.

As mentioned, sometimes when not right halls angle is set, motor can run, but be very inefficient. But probably you run auto-detect in Sabvoton? (it should be 245 angle for qs205V3)

Yes of course I ran the self test for the hall angle alignment. And it's not a motor swap but a secondary bike. It seems to run more efficiently than the 3.5T because it is consuming less power when we are head to head on an uphill riding with the same speed, but it heats up much quicker. Both bikes and rider weights are close enough.
If reducing the phase amps doesn't work, I would try to redo the self alignment.

Yes, try amps, to 5T 90A batt/250A phase; 3.5T 130A batt /350A phase. It should heat less in low speeds.
Which motor you prefer now, why?

How to connect, pls see the video of my facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tzqsmotor/

what's that 12v ? Is that high brake? It used to be that you need to supply Ground for high brake? Now it is 12v?

Sabvoton SVMC72150 + TFT displayer

1) Is this TFT displayer compatible with older Sabvoton controllers? Or it will work (comunicate via UART?) only with the SVMC72150 controller in the set?

2) What is the maximal working voltage for this TFT displayer? It is possible to operate it with 116Vmax battery and SVMC96150 controller?

Yes, the purple line is high brake for 12v. Pls see below:

Actually all other wires are same with before, just we add a new wire for PAS.

1. The TFT could not compatible with older Sabvoton controller, because connect with TFT, it needs special connector. For old sabvoton there is no this connector.
2. Yes, TFT only work for 72v voltage, it can match all 72V sabvoton controller like SVMC72150, SVMC72100, SVMC72200, SVMC72080

Can you provide dimension drawings for the Type2 cased 2000W and 3000W motors?

So that didn't helped guys. The 5T motor still overheats much more than the 3.5T. I've set it to 180A max phase and even on a small incline where I'm using 2kw of power I can not get the temperature below 110 C! I've redone the hall test 3 times with no change of the angle (I think it's 245). Something must not be right on this QS+Sabvoton setup

1)Try to re connect the motor with a different combination (phase & hall sensor cables).
2) Can you try with another controller?
if you have the same results then something wrong should be with the motor maybe hall sensors issues?
If you solve the mystery please let us know.

Thanks, but this appears to be Type 1 casing. I've asked about your new Type 2 casing.

Vito, hello.

I hope you are well.

We need more info about the product QS 8000 V3 273.

Is the maximum voltage 60 V?

Is the most suitable 60 V or can it be a different voltage?

Can you give me the exact specification of this QS 8000 V3 273?

Somehow we can not program the software for the reverse mode. So we have to switch the wires Yellow to Green and Green to Yellow. This does not look good, and seems to give a strange sound in the motor.

You (carrie) refers to a Kelly controller, but we have a advpower.cn controller.

We need more information Mr. Vito.

Best regards,

Frank (www.ev-123-go.com)

Hi Frank,

For QS 8000 V3 273, do you mean e-car motor, or spoke hub motor or e-scooter hub motor?
Actually for all our motor can use 48-72V voltage. And for 8000w motor, it also could use 96v.
Which controller do you use? APT controller, right?

Looking forward to your informaton that i can give you more information.
