I have been given a sensor-less Xlyte controller that my mate cooked (http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=34123&p=495869#p495869)

and it is wired for the Xlyte APM display...which allows MCU flashing direct on the bike from the APM !! (http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=34140)

Are these boards basically the same as any other infineon controller ( EB312-C?) on the board...and can I simply re wire it to take a CA and a USB header as the standard Infineon style boards...like the Lyen ones?

If so ..what is the pinout for the CA plug..I know there is a thread here some where about this..but have been unable to locate it again...(note to self...must re organise my Internet bookmarks!)
Cheers

Thanks...out in interest I could do with the info for the Xlyte sensored version

Cheers

If its a newer crystalyte sensorless controller then I dont think you can wire the cycle analyst to it. Justins instructions are for the older controllers. I couldnt get mine to work. If you get a cycle analyst with a speedo magnet in the wheel then it will work. I think that Crystalyte did this in an attempt to make us all buy their APM units.

Ah..thanks for that....I always prefer the external speed sensor anyway, so having the speed pulse from the motor is not an issue, I'd rather get it from the magnet speed sensor.

Actually I only have external speed sensor CA's here anyway

I could be wrong about there being a solution for the sensorless controller, but it wouldn't hurt to ask Justin.

As to the using a CA with clyte's newer sensored board here is what Justin came up with. It works perfect.

Hey Nick, I'll spare you the tales but in short I haven't had a chance in a couple months to actually sit in my lab and do lab work. But finally got that this long weekend, and got a chance to complete the CA-DP wiring on your controller both to bench test it driving a motor and also to add the throttle over-ride functionality. In short it works fine with just the standard tap points for the EBXXX boards:

Speed is picked up from the HA hall signal exactly where you had it wired:

The shunt leads are as expected. I later moved the black GND wire to be just besides the white lead, and then if you have any devices powered up from the CA (like a lumenator light) then the current from that will also show up on the CA display. If you don't want this, then you can move the black lead to any other GND point.

Finally, the throttle over-ride is setup just like the older infineon devices. R36 is a resistor lined up AFTER R8, the 2K2 series resistor to the throttle line.

So by shorting out R36, we can bring out the throttle over-ride tap point to the pad labelled SLA. In the case of the new large screen CA's which have the diode onboard, you could just hook up the green wire directly there. However, for compatibility with older CA models I added a schottky diode into the SLA pad and then soldered the green CA lead to that:

SOO, we can finally ship this boy back to you. Let me know if you'd want anything else ordered at the same time so we could combine it.

Feel free as well to post the above images to ES if there are others who have been struggling to do the mod. I'm probably not going to have login time on the sphere until early Nov.

Yes, thanks, all seems to make sense, fitted resistor and diode the other day to a small 6 fet board to enable an SA model to cut power at LVC
