Register bicycle as moped?

Hi, does anyone have any experience with this - is it at all possible to register electric bicycle (3000Watt mid drive motor) as moped in order to make it street legal?

Can you register e bike as moped, insure it ecc.?

Better to have a switch to maintain it legally as a pedalcycle (which they're refered to as around here).

Reg and insure means dot lites tires and whatever local inspections call for. There's a couple guys on here that have done so in the us though.

Though I have no idea if or how any of that pertains or is helpful for you upon noticing you're in czech republic.

There are several threads about such things...but each is for a specific location.

You will have to check with your local authorities on such matters, as everywhere in teh world is different from everywhere else in teh world, for legal matters.

yes, i just wanted to see generally what people's experiences with this are if any. i bet around EU the rules will be similar for all of us..

so if someone had experience registering e bike in the EU..

A search will definitely turn something up, I've seen different user photos with EU plates.

Over here it seems best to keep it sub 100lbs, and have a way to limit power and motor-driven speed. Otherwise tires/lights/horn are the first things I know of needed for compliance.

and with the "switch" - that's what I'm gonna use on my bike, switch that is able to limit power to make it street legal, but this is still not legal, law in EU does not ask what is your actual useable power but what is the maximum power the motor is able to put out..

Idk, if it's a diy installation that for all intensive purposes performs legally, a sticker or something should keep you in the clear. But I understand your concern; there are EU builds on here that are placarded, so I thinkyou will find what you're looking for.

I've got a couple of customers in UK with road legal bikes - but it most definitely is NOT the same in all EU countries - where exactly are you based?
