Meh.. nothing revolutionary here. That kind of bike has been done before. Most of our home built bikes have far better specs.

It looks a little odd because the rider is over the front wheel like a scaled-down boneshaker, but as a longtime proponent of moving as much of an ebikes mass as possible to the front, I like it. The one mass I never thought of moving forward was the rider.

I'd think that having your feet around the front wheel , right over the contact patch, would make a rider feel directly connected to the road surface. The pedals that flip up, and flop between being footpegs and pedals are pretty cool, and I like the idea of turning the handlebars sideways to walk it down corridors. 8) I don't know that I want to try stoppies on that layout, though.

I like it.

It's not revolutionary, it won't manage our hills, it doesn't take advantage of human power, and the ride looks uncomfortable and a bit precarious.

But there is a need for a bike which can actually be carried up stairs, tucked into a corner of your office or commuter train, and used by technophobes.

HAHA. Eat yer hearts out. Shortly to travel to see the Revelo in action (again). Early/later today in Toronto at the Corus Quay center by the harbour:

ES Rebel sorts tap about DIY being "better" somehow, but this guy hopes to get to "mass market"/volume productions.

Hehe... NOT that folding handlebars thingee, but a folding hinge in the main frame of the "minibike".

Sure that tiny rear wheel won't climb? I think it might do quite well actually, on less power than a big 26".

At least is IS different. Not just a funny shaped frame on the same basic bike geometry. I'd have to ride one though, to know if I liked the shorter wheelbase. Personally, I've come prefer lengthening the bike. The result is rider weight is more forward of the rear wheel. So the seat tips back and forth on bumps, but doesn't hop up and down as much.

But before I scoff on it, I'd have to ride one. It might be a much nicer ride than it looks at first glance.

Part of why I like long wheelbase. A 30 mph dive for life to the ditch is much less likely to result in over the bars on a long bike.

Watch any bike race, when those guys hit the shoulder at 30 mph, its about 6 feet of travel, then hoopla!

Hehe... "bike RACE". (Most urban travelers more anxious not to spill their drinks. Almost complete lack of gravel roadsides to deal with.) Now gotta ask Henry. Easy to "bunny hop" over curbs, etc? (Gotta dig out a pair of those leather foot straps.) Also haven't checked re any gyroscopic stability. (My balance kinda "sucks" at this moment. Suspect Revelos designed for the younger crowd (by a younger guy).
