i just got a used Sabvoton controller off a mate and it was working fine but his motor snapped so I bought his sabvoton controller off him. When the motor snapped it could’ve damaged the controller but it cant be seen. The issue is that the controller green light flashes 13 times indicating a hall error and it also says hall error on the app. However my motor works fine there is no hall issues as I’ve tested the motor and used a different controller with it and it works fine so this leads me to believe that it is the controller that is having the issue. It also give the hall error issue without the motor being connected and just the power so how does it know there is a hall error which also makes me think it’s the controller having the issue. Any insight would be helpful.
edit: the sabvoton controller is a SVMC 72150

If the "motor snapped" means it's a hubmotor that spun the axle and damaged the wiring while it was running, then the halls could have shorted to the phases, putting battery voltage directly onto any of the hall signal or power or ground wires that feed directliy into the controller.

That can damage the MCU itself, if there's no buffers between the signal input and the MCU, or the 5v supply to things, etc.

If the MCU hall inputs are damaged, the controller is probably scrap unless it has a sensorless option.

Was hoping that wasn’t the case but thanks for the info.
