What can they be set too? continuous and peak
When does it become unsafe for the internal controller

It's about the only thing I cant find
I have a 48V 10Ah Lion battery

No idea, I can't find that information which is why Im asking
It's the internal controller supplied with the smartpie motor
Apparently its the same as the controller in the MP3 but that motor is rated at 1000W not 400W

I don't think it be will unsafe for the controller when setting at highest settings.
Because the software doesn't allow you to set higher value due the controller specs.

Current limit just affect torque and speed.
Peak limit is just for starting off.

Why would someone put a turbo charger or super charger on their car? same reason.

Anyway the smart pie is a very wimpy motor and i don't recommend it at all. This motor peaks at about 78% efficiency ( which is really pathetic ) on stock power, so it doesn't have much room for pumping more power in.

I wouldn't bother with it.

and some people go nuts and some go sensible
so your saying
just keep increasing the amperage until im happy or it breaks

I'm saying don't increase the amperage. It has poor efficiency ( 78% at peak ), and if you push it further, you will have even lower efficiency and more heat.

^-- here is the efficiency graph of your motor at 48v.

^-- compare this to a bigger motor, like a crystalyte HS.

Sorry but you got the wrong motor for the job here.

I'm not after a bigger motor
or a more efficient motor
and I did not ask "should I have gotten this motor?"
Also that link you sent was for the magic pie not smart pie

For whatever reason, they put the link for those graphs right below the smart pie, and didn't have those links available when they weren't selling the smart pie, so my bad in making an assumption that it was referring to the smart pie.
I would assume that the smaller motor is even less efficient than that.

If you want to find out what the current is at, then you need a watt/amp/volt metering device, like the turnigy watt meter, gt power analyzer, cycle analyst, etc.

Once you find that out, you can bump up the current a little from stock if you notice that the motor isn't getting hot. But i doubt that the motor can take much more current overall.

Golden Motor is notorious for poorly documenting / marketing their products, and their Chinese sales "help" is basically useless. You could check the golden motor forums for some more info, maybe someone would know more.

Yep, I made that same mistake, hence why I asked if anyone knows where it is, I can't seem to find it anywhere
There support is so bad I cant seem to create an account that I can use to post on there forum and they don't answer any emails
But purchasing there stuff is fast, I got it before the week ended
