was looking at the wikipedia article on surface mount technology:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Surface-mount_technology
when i ran across the codes for the surface mount parts:
http://elektronik.googlecode.com/files/SMD_Catalog222.pdf
and then i found this article on motors by accident at circuitmaniac.com :
http://electricalandelectronics.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/00730754.pdf
i find that the SMT codes are useless on the chinese parts because the knockoffs do not use the same codes, to avoid trademark rights i assume. i have found that using the code as a search on ebay will help find the part. ebay is how i found that the SOT-23 labeled Y2 used on the icharger for the shunt transistor is the S8550 pnp transistor, same as headway used in the TO-92 package.
