Bought a controller with the display 35a 60v controller plug n play for a Banfang 750w fat bike geared hub motor it all plugged up worked for a test ride went to see what top speed it would get and it went blank nothing wont turn on now seems dead its barley 30 day old . Is there someone or a shop that I can send it to for repair? Eltro Bike were I bought it on line says they cant help cant return it Any suggestions on how to check a controller and were I might send it to for repair??

Could be a good number of things, but if I were a betting man I'd say that your high speed run likely tripped the bms that is presumably in your battery pack. (Though the display or controller could very well have just popped, especially if there is a short somewhere)

Have you tried putting the pack back on the charger since it stopped working? If not, give that a whirl. If still no good we can begin to dig deeper.

Running too close to rated limits can burn a controller.

Need to limit based on heat buildup, or buy a controller that can handle much more than you'll ever want to use.

if that controller is for sla batteries (60v is a sla voltage) and you connect a 13s/48v pack. that's 54.6v. look at the lvc on controller sticker. the controller will shut off at 52?v. trying charging your battery to full again, connect to bike and see if it turns on.

The battery works fine in my other bike voltage coming from the pack is 55v thats why I bought the 60v controller is there some way to test the controller with my multimeter? Thanks

I was lucky enough that my used controller had a sticker on it stating the lvc of the controller. if your controller came from a scooter, its probably sla, sealed lead acid battery. mine was a 60v 33amp from a davinci scooter

is there an inline fuse anywhere? the battery wires coming out of the controller, there should be a 3rd wire coming out for the power on/off button. see if you have power there if not you can jump that to your battery and see if it turns on. only do this if you know for sure what wire is what. it might be called the remote wire.

that remote on/off wire look in your instructions to see what wire goes with it to the on/off switch. that's the wire you want to make sure its jumped to if you don't have an on/off switch. some controllers use battery voltage on that wire and if your on/off switch was only 5volts from your old controller you could have fried the switch at 55 volts

Yeah, that sounds not good.

I'm not aware of anyone who repairs them offhand, but hopefully someone will be able to refer you to someone who can. You can always try to open up the controller or display and have a look to see if you can identify what components have failed, just to have an idea of what let go. If it's just a resistor in the display or a single fet in the controller, it may be easier to find someone to service it than if it's all of the fets and the gate driver to boot, in which case it's likely done.

Triple check all of your phase and hall wires as well during the course of the repair work. A wire short could easily be the root cause, and it would stink to fix or replace the controller only to have it pop again in short order.

If the controller is rated at 2100 watts, the bike would barely be pulling half of that at the top speed of your setup. How fast (and how long) did you go before it fried? 30 mph would be a little over a 1000 watts.

G60 (didn't see the 750 watt fat version on the drop down) @60V, 35 amp controller:
