I wanted to start a thread to gather some experience. Are there any people here who are also using this motor?

I built a Dengfu bike with a Bafang M560 at the beginning of 2024. Since the original Bafang M560 is almost impossible to ride, regardless of the Bafang software, I had the Exforce controller installed a year ago after some research. And I have to say, after some software and parameter adjustments, the motor ran really well. And now with the latest software, the motor is absolutely amazing. Lots of power with really good torque control and no need to push it back :). Simply brilliant.

If you will have any chance to dig inside the motor (like maybe grease change or replacing the gears) please take pictures of the controller and post them. It would be interesting to see what is going on on the controller board.

I found some pictures in the Internet that look like that controller.

The Exforce controller picture I found looks quite close but I see some differences, like an extra buck convertor.

The bulk capacitors look similar so it looks like it is only up to 60V controller. I can not see the MOSFET driver chip but If the controller uses the same driver chip with integrated buck convertor like the one on the pictures above then it is certainly only up to 60V.

Oh, the controller doesn't look healthy. Your DRV is dead. Isn't that the issue with VESC and DRV? I've read that somewhere before. I don't know much about it. But I can say that it works perfectly with the Exforce software. And I run the controller with a 52V battery.
 
EXFORCE upgraded and greased my motor about two weeks ago — and honestly, it feels like I’ve got a brand new motor now. Totally different game compared to the old Innotrace firmware. Power delivery is super smooth and consistent all the way up to around 120 cadence. On my usual routes, I’m seeing nearly 50% energy savings. The motor also runs way cooler. And that grease... unreal. The motor is dead silent — I can actually enjoy the sounds of nature again!

If you got old version of M620 motor it likely has old 9-teeth version of the rotor with old 23-teeth clutch gear and this combination is noisy as hell and also may damage the gears and the rotor at high power because of big angle of the helical gear teeth causes a lot of lateral load and can shift the gears on the axles. I recommend to install new 15-teeth rotor with 39 teeth clutch gear. That new gears set reduces the noise significantly more than changing grease and in theory it is more reliable because of less lateral force due to smaller angle of the helical gears teeth.



Please note you need to calibrate the rotary encoder after installing new rotor. I do not know what kind of firmware EXFORCE installed on your controller, you might need to ask EXFORCE to help you with it or to provide you tools for this operation if such tools are required. Ideally it would be nice if EXFORCE firmware would allow the rotary encoder to be calibrated from the display maybe pressing combinations of buttons withing particular time frame to re-calibrate the rotor so people can change the rotor or do the motor repair if necessary without messing with program tools.

Thanks for the heads-up! But honestly, I’ve got zero reason to mess with the motor. It’s by far quieter than my Bosch or Shimano ever were. First big ride coming up this weekend — I’ll let you know how it goes!
 
I also have an E22 with the M620 and the new transmission. It was already quieter than the old version. Then I had Exforce rebuild it with the bearing set and grease, and now it's so quiet you can barely hear the motor. Truly impressive.

I've now done just over 7,000 km with the Exforce M560. And now, with all the updates, I can go 20 km farther with my 1164 Wh battery than I did at the beginning on my home trail. I can also use the 2500W consistently, even now when the outside temperature exceeds 30 degrees Celsius. The highest motor temperature I had was 92 degrees Celsius during 40 km of continuous power with over 1500 mhd.
 
Hey guys, I'm finally breaking my silence on this forum, and this is my first post. I'm pleased to see EXFORCE gaining traction in this community.
As a DIY enthusiast, I've had experience with various motor systems, including BAFANG, Tongsheng, and Toseven. However, I was interested in trying something different, so I built a bike with an E10 frame and M560 motor. I've been riding with the original controller (25A) for about 4 months. While the motor power was acceptable, the way it delivered power wasn't entirely satisfactory. The control was limited to the PAS sensor and support levels, which felt similar to riding a BBSHD. I didn't really notice a torque sensor. Additionally, the battery consumption and heat generation were a way higher than I expected.
But then I got my hands on an EXFORCE controller, and it's been a total game-changer! The torque sensor control is impressive - it's like it's reading my mind! The response to pressure changes is super precise, and the overrun is basically non-existent. I mean, the original controller would still push for 3 to 5 turns after I stopped pedaling, whereas the EXFORCE controller stops immediately.
What's notable is that despite the increased power output, I'm actually seeing an improvement in range. I used to get around 75 km, but now I'm reaching around 90 km with the same battery.
If it continues to run smoothly, I'm sold - this is the perfect motor for me!
 
Wow, so many newbies breaking silence on EXFORCE controllers simultaneously ) If any of you have more information on those controllers please post any feasible information.

That Exforce M620 motor controller looks quite interesting. It looks like it is two sandwiched boards just like Innotrace controller. But it is not custom shape - just rectangular boards. I am wondering if they did it on purpose to fit it to multiple motors like Bafang M630 also for instance so they do not need to tailor individual controllers for each motor.

Maybe they also use a couple of small cheap connectors boards to mate both UART and CANbus motors with this controller.

The rotary encoder is probably not part of the PCB assembly and can be mounted anywhere individually for each motor maybe with a custom 3D printed bracket or something?

That's a quite smart approach for low to medium volume production.

Man, this controller is 4x the cost of a phaserunner or VESC controller. Or about the cost of a complete mid drive kit. That's nuts.
 
Yeah, it looks like there are some deep pocket guys on this forum. But as I understand the cost includes the motor plus controller and new Bafang m600 or m620 motors cost is not significantly lower. The bummer is it looks like they do not sell their controllers separately from the motor. I would prefer to pay $100-150 for such controller and install it myself to my existing motor. I do not need an extra motor for extra cost. If you feel you can't install the controller then sure, go ahead and purchase motor+controller.
 
On their webpage they list the controller, it's about $815 USD for the m560 controller.

Same here, threw a spintend VESC on a lightest.bike mid drive recently to push 1500w into it. The price was right, and the controller is very flexible.

So i see why a stealthy solution is desirable.

I haven't found anything comparable. There's been talk for years about something based on VSC, but so far, nothing has materialized.

@TPEHAK is working on one. Once he finishes you will be able to make one yourself for 1/3rd the cost.

TPEHAK will definitely come up with a solid DIY solution. But not everyone wants to tinker — people are happy to pay more if it just works that well.
 
Ok, so..

This thread looked like some guerilla marketing attempt. But we weren't sure until today.
The moderator team did some research and were able to unearth a lot of information on the public web about this company and their tactics for marketing.

- exforce appears to be the next iteration of innotrace gmbh, which appears to have a bad reputation and some history of selling very expensive products and not supporting them, leaving users hanging out to dry.
- innotrace was using VESC technology without crediting it, not sure if this is the case with the exforce, but this is screwed up
- I have enough evidence, both public and internal, to say that at least 2 of the posters in this thread work for this company and their posts on other forums are also sketchy.
- these people are very good at hiding their identities on other websites and did an almost perfect job here.
- there some long pattern of legal spats between people involved in innotrace/exforce; some talk of that is actually on ES. There is more that's findable on google. Some people in the VESC community also have a bad taste in their mouth over these guys.

You could have just posted for sale ad like a normal company instead of pretending to be members of the community.
No problem with that. You instead went hard on the dishonest route. Wrong place to do that.

Anyone working for this company isn't welcome here and you have all been banned.
