Super73 S2 72V QS205 Build | OEM+ Street Build w/ FarDriver ND72300

Hey everyone,

Starting a build thread for my Super73 S2 project.

Intended to be a little somethin’ to get be around the neighborhood and pickleball courts :) shhh

The plan is basically:
  • QS205 3.5T rear hub
  • 72V system
  • FarDriver ND72300
  • Shimano M7120 brakes
Current focus areas:
  • Torque arm design
  • Tail section/controller packaging
  • Harness routing
  • Cockpit integration
  • Lighting system

Current Hardware

  • Frame: Super73 S2
  • Motor: QS205 72V 5000W 3.5T
  • Controller: FarDriver ND72300
  • Battery: 72V 20Ah Samsung 50S
  • Brakes: Shimano M7120 + 203mm RT76 rotors
  • Fork: Tapered inverted fork
  • Cockpit: Renthal
  • Full twist throttle
  • Minimal switch setup

Electrical:
  • QS8 service disconnect
  • 72V -> 12V accessory system
  • 6-way fused accessory distribution
  • 1.5-series waterproof connector ecosystem

Still finalizing a few things and open to input from people that have similar setups:

  • Best torque arm strategy for slotted S73 dropouts. I have custom dropouts and then ones in the market don’t fit. Should I make a cardboard mockup and have it 3D scanned or take it to a CNC fabricator?
  • Thoughts on venting vs sealing the tail electronics compartment
  • Cleanest rear brake light integration setups

Things seem to be going well. Waiting for stem and titanium bolts/nuts to arrive, as well as battery before I can stage everything up. The biggest scope right now tends to be fabricating brake mounts, torque arms, and electrical/controller enclosure.

Here’s a 3D prototype of the post mount extended adapter to kill the offset.

Lmk know when you fab torque and brake mounts I’ll buy a set asap, just started putting my qs205 s73 tonight and found out the hard way
