looks like some smart folks are working on Fuel cell bikes... it seems to be a pretty compact package that retains our familiar hub motors. I'd like to know the range or output though!

Seems a hell of a lot safer putting fuel cell Tech into an e-bike rather than a car (BOOOOM!)

Wow  I've thought about this, but didn't know it was out there. I'm curious to how much energy can be stored using fuel cell technology compared to the current Lithium based batteries.

One of the issues with fuel cells is the limited maximum output current. The ENV, or now the Suzuki Crosscage, were/are using fuel cells on a motorcycle, but to improve performance the power is supported by a lead acid battery for the high torque requirements of an off-road type bike.
I wonder what sort of performance that hydrobike gets.

wow, cool stuff! 600w is Plenty for daily commuting or something, Plus that could easily by supplemented by a small Auxiliary LIPO pack for increased performance on demand!

Something that makes this such a great technology is that its very accessible to the average joe! I don't imagine a bike would need a fuel cell remotely as efficient or complicated as the ones being developed for cars! (nano-tech)... kind of thinking back now... i'm pretty surprised that we don't see the Hydrogen Fuel cell program start with bikes and mopeds!

Very Interesting! It lead me to this nice introduction to fuel cells and their applications:

safety is a concern with pressurized cylinders. it just takes one person to take it on the train and have a hydrogen leak.

it's impressive!!.. seems lightweight ! great find....

but..
.. lol hydrogen... the efficiency to make hydrogen is very low.. take much more energy than pure electric system...

 Hydrogen + safety can't exist together in my mind... I would preffer having electrolite leak instead of hydrogen LEAK in my garage!!.. Kaboom!!!!

You are right , compared to that 2KW/H of Lipo feel safe to charge inside :D

I can see the problem with a leak for sure! But if you think about it, The tanks do separate from the bikes and can be stored outside. since you don't have to "charge" anything, there's no real reason for it to be indoors anyway. The only disadvantage that I see is the cost of Hydrogen is garaunteed to be far greater than the cost (varies from city to city) per KWh of Electricity to charge the batteries. On the upside, the range is FAR greater and the weight is less!

check this site out! it has some pretty cool toys!
