Au top end Too hot for lipo burns
hi all look like i have the ebike Bug it VERy costly in life and money i just got a free frame give to me , i was told it had a blow up shock, :( but the good part it one best shock you can buy, great for spart parts, has i own a few of them http://www.avalanchedownhillracing.com/dhs.html

the frame i was give was 2012 Propain Rage 8.8 https://www.propain-bikes.com/en https://www.propain-bikes.com/Rage
the more i look at it say cut me up, then i try to fit cyclone motor , but it too big , that kind of sucks, has i i own more motors then bike to use on, then i try dave gearbox http://www.tangentmotors.com it loook like it fit if i a cut in the downtube and add motor case shell into the frame to hold gearbox and i have room to add lipo's in side the frame ,,, my Fear is the alloy it unknow to me , the website , Dose not Tell what it made out of :pancake:

i try emailing them and the email dose not work ,

then i look at rear drop out they Wow replaceable . this mean i make new ones to fit Alfine 8 hub i have i never got to use yet , it;s from my other frame did not fit, without be a pain in the ass to change tires,

if any you know what alloy they use Would a great help to me,

thank you alll

Well if nothing else you could "take a sample" (shavings) and have it analyzed I would think. Spectrum analyzers have dropped in price the past decade and you should be able to find one in your area that can do a quick test of the sample. Those can determine almost anything, so I am confident it will work to find what metal the frame is.

Dave's right on the forum here and he should know what alloy, but cutting out the frame to integrate it sounds problematic and difficult even if they're the same and weldable.
Maybe ask samd about the integration, he does it afaik for battery boxes.
Also check a few of several tangent builds on here, seems like they don't hang that low to begin with.

The frame is either 6061 or 7005 alloy, because 99%+ of aluminum bike frames are made of one or the other.

Keep in mind that 6061 is about one quarter as strong after welding as it is after heat treatment. 7005 doesn't suffer quite as much, but it will be substantially weakened if you don't perform a post weld artificial aging (bake).

My suggestion is to try to clamp onto your existing frame rather than cutting or drilling it.

hi all thank for input , nutspecial you do know this not my first gear box from dave , i have others, i just like a bike one that super clean like iceman,

KONA Entourage
https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=55215

"Maybe ask samd "from Es i had TRY Very long a go if he could make me a frame Never Reply to me, So i don't have much tust he would reply or do the job

were i am from it's small town it VERy hard to get any thing here , to give you idear we have no hardware shop. it close down 6 years ago,

i have use what i have, not the best outcome some times,

thanks you all,

I would use the earlier version of Dave's drive. Noisier, but on the face of it, no cutting required. More likely to have a successful result, earlier.

What's wrong with my mounts? I worked hard on those things. It'll hold the drive up out of the way and they're super stout. What if you didn't cut the frame up until you tried the mounting plates and new drive I'm sending you? I'll have it in the post in just a few days. That frame is 83mm BB?

And yes, I can include a couple extra motor keys.

Btw if that is an expensive shock that is worth keeping why not do a rebuild of the shock? If you are not sure how to if the manufacturer still is alive you could probably send the shock to them for a true pro rebuild. I am sure they keep a small stack of parts around. That shock must either be a damn good shock performing more or less on par with MX shocks of decent quality or that Avalanche is a truly great in marketing. Avalanche have a website that looked like it was build in 1995, and never updated since. Yet they are selling USD Forks costing $ 3.700. Almost twice of a Fox 40 or three times the Manitou Dorado.

Are the company still alive, looking at the website it is hard to tell :)
Are their product really worth the money they are asking?

Sry for the OT, just new to me that company and it seems they do a lot of custom work. They really have needle bearings in the eye of shock?

hi , yes http://www.avalanchedownhillracing.com sill Very much alive . God Crag is the main man, for the biz

Woah! Yeah you get what you pay for with the tangent kit. Looks like some quality stuff!

It'd be very easy to just fill that triangle with batteries in a bag. You could certainly mod the frame, if you really want to.

hi yes i found way to hold motor, made temp mount, it can hold cyclone or tangentmotors .. this for testing, if dose work great i could go a cut up mods in frame, i have not alot to lose, i have not feeling to this frame. not retro frame,

i upload pic in next day they sill not done .. :)
thank you all

hi i made new rear drop outs for holding afline 8 hub ,, in allloy i don't know if if will Fail, i may use steel . to keep it from blend the alloy , i really dont know what will break frist axle or my drop outs,

i sanded some the frame back, i was going to take off all the piant ,, it was too costly in time and money , if i do weldding mods, i get a shop to do it is only $30 or $40 to do this, same price that i can do it for with better gear,

thank you all 8)
