Yeah I know what you mean, years ago I was out being a hoon with a few mates on a, err, private highway.
I roared off in my falcon along with a guy in a wrx and quickly hit the 180km/hr limiter. A minute later I hear this god aweful racket as a mate in a shit box mitsubishi mirage comes up along side and slowly creeps past me. I had plenty more top speed but was ECU limited while this guy slowly pulled away, mind you he was nearly shooting pistons through his bonnet at redline in top gear. Maniac.

haha well, I had to be sure this wasn't going to happen with the Matt & the MAC ... thankfully it was successful  :)

Matt.P dropped around this lovely afternoon for a ride! I literally taped the camera to my handle bars and we set off for what i planned a loooong ride which i would film the entirety there of...unfortunately about 1/4 of the way the camera turned off :? Was such a fantastic day, nice roads
and two bikes that performed outstandingly well on some pretty serious long drawn out hills, some video of the first part of the ride anywayz-->
*Sorry Luke...again...not HiDef ...

You all seen my cruiser for those that haven't ventured inot the frock section of the forum you may not have seen Matt.Ps frocked GIANT-->

Fantastic build very professional Matt...

The vid shal give you fellas an idea of the noise levels of the outrunner, the high pitch whine is full rpm, anything under it doesn't make that noise and while obviously not "silent" it's by no means deafeningly loud...IMO of course, if you have nancy panzy anal acute hearing you prolly ain't gunna likez it  :p

Thankz for an awesome ride Matt we shall both camera up for the next one and venture a lil further out, IIRC Matt used around half his pack myself ->||<- <--that much over half

Data for my ride for those interested in such things...yes Matt.S i know i know the ripple isn't good ... i have everything on lowest settings ... :: shrugs::

Back with more laterz...

Looks like a great ride and a barrel of fun my friend. :) Great work!

Great stuff.
Your getting some good speeds on those hills Kim, Matt seems to like riding more on the pavement! I think he's determined to knock over the wheelie bins :)

Cheers TopCat, the speeds on this ride weren't super high, with the hv160 settings on the lowest i can get them
i top out around 62 km/hr...which is fine with me as i still have the ability to accelerate up all hills i have tackled thus far
speed limits in the residential area are also 50km/hr so i now have a good mix, can climb any hill with great speed
as well as IMO satisfactory top speed (for now anywayz hehe) The efficiency of the bike has impressed me most
since the gear change though, it was pulling identical current to Matts 500w Frock motor when on flat roads
riding at 30-35 clicks took 10-15amp I used more battery capacity however hehe obviously because i
ran WOT up alot up the hills and my motor is alot hungrier than the lil red frock... Matts frock was superb very impressive
it really was BUT, you didn't reeeeally get to see how well the cruiser went up those hills in comparison, when Matt
cameras up for the next ride the speed differences will be much more noticeable. Now with the praise given to the frock,
i wouldn't use one if you paid me<--mean that in the nicest way possible they just ain't for me.

Thankyou Luke, you would love riding here, Matts and I had a blast, couldn't of asked for a nicer day either
PERFECT motorcycle riding weather Luke! I am so pissed the camera turned off, i can't see the lcd
screen well in the sunlight, i could see that it was on but the lil "rec' symbol i couldnt see. I turned the camera off twice on the trip
(so i thought) but the first time was a good 3 minutes before the camera actually stopped, so pissed...there was some
beautiful roads/scenery as we went thrugh the Valleys in Bickley and Kalamunda ... next ride mate
will take Matt & his frock a lil further out, search for a lil steeper, slightly loooonger hill tehehe..

I'm off fishing again today, but i want to do another video, walk around style of video of
the bike like i did with the trike. Back with that in a few days...

Cheers guyz...

p.s OH hehehe..and Matt was just jumping on the pavement to give the L337 and Superior RC Motored bike the
room it demands and deserves LOL :|  :p

Not to but in on your thread but, what motor is in Matts Bike? I am curious, it looks like the MAC but I am not sure. WHat voltage/Amos is he running? I will be coming over to the dark side soon enough, But i need to get my Stage 1 on/off road bike (the Urban) designed and built for sale first, then I can get into the hot rods! I am thinking twin drive for sure!

It is a MAC available from Cell_Man....Matt has painted his and modified
the interior slightly, also has replaced wires with thicker guage and has
split the wiring to have half out each side of the axle.

I been fishing again this weekend, shall do a walk around video of the bike tomorrow...

Mate took these two pics of me fishing -->

S6303121.jpg

Unfortunately no wide angle lens thus no pics were taken of me with the fishes i caught  Theres a cycle path 10 foot behind me that pretty much goes around the entire Swan River. Could jump on that and ride to the city in under 15 minutes on my cruiser, shall be doing a ride down there one weekend, Matt.P lives on the otherside of the river down the road a lil...

Ciao for now...

It's a Mac running with a 12 fet infineon and magura throttle, at 48volts, 30amp main current and 75amp phase current.
The battery is made up of 16s 15ah Cellman Cells and a 80amp BMS Paul "Cellman" supplies.
The cells barely volt sag at all and are always balanced within a few millivolts. I check regularly with two 8s cell logs from hobby city.
Acceleration is more that adequate and tops out at 48kmh on level ground with a 24" rim and large 2.5" hookworm tyre.
Brilliant setup IMO.
Cheers,
Matt.

No worries mate, we can clearly see the little red bucket where you keep your catch   :D

Actually thats just for the bait, the fish i tether in the water to the post in front of me until its times to leave, then we winch them aboard  Luckily my mate is into fat chicks, hence the winch on his ute, the fish end up 'pre-floured' too, not sure why but he always has a layer of flour on the utes bed :?:  :p

Did a short walk-a-round video today it's nothing spectaculer i can assure you
it's mainly for those that view it on youtube and haven't seen the
bike in the forum and/or only the ride videos.

(again Luke look away or protect your eyes so as not to catch herpes ...it ain't HiDef buddy :p )

(this will REALLY give you a good dose too Luke Youtube really butchered the rez)
^^^Double click the video and watch it on Youtube its slightly clearer...

I attached yet another cap onto the hv160 input
leads today, that makes it 4 right before the esc itself
plus 3 in Mr Fechters throttle interface, all settings
on the esc turned to low, showers this arvo have not permitted
a ride to see if it has helped with the ripple... Forecast
for rain most of the week after a week of sunshine, ah
well, have to have some Winter...in Winter...i guess
 least its not 4 foot of snow outside :p
I'll wait a few days and it be sunshine again...

So where to for now? well...time to save some pennies
again then i'll order another Infineon and some of the same
hall sensors Burtie and GWhy are using and see if i can't
get this Outrunner happening on 66 & 88v using the
e-bike controller. Hoping a supply of motors will hit
HK in the intrim. As mentioned previous i will also grab
me one of Matt.S fancy CnCed reduction drive covers, this
will flashen the left hand side of the bike up nicely!

Until then though, i shall attempt to tone down the abuse
to the hv160 in order to prolong its life, at least till i can afford
another Infineon setup. Back then...

Amazing work Kim. Glad you're getting some use out of your art. Excellent form and function. I look forward to the next AJ build so I can be amazed every day by the progress of little beavers turning metal into bling.

Hi AJ,
you're right about the beauty of matts CNC'd reduction gear cover. But I thought since you're so handy with glassfiber, you would build it on your own? Sure you'd come up with something matching the bikes unique style.

-Olaf

You know thats a bloody good idea! Money has been a lil tight last few pension payments with a few un-expected bills popping up
& blowing up another speed controller didnt help the savings or i would already have bought the cover, Matt offered me the original engraved with the 'M.S' too!!! As to making a glass version i don't think i have any catalyst left but i have HEAPS of glass and resin! Good excuse for a quick trip on the bike to Kalamunda! Either way i will get the cnc cover eventually, its a Matt Shumaker drive it deserves a Matt Shumaker drive cover 8)

Shall have a looksee when its a lil warmer this morning, still huddled next to the radiator heater keeping warm must be 12c degrees outside brbrbrbbrr shall report back with proceedings...

KiM

EDIT: hrmz...do reduction drive covers need a air scoop for any reason? :p

12 celcius = perfect weather ! If i had to pick a temp and have it year round.. that would be it.

Regarding covers.. would be cool to have an oil bath for the chain to spin into, would only need a few oz at the bottom...

what do you chain loving freaks use for chain lube ? and how often ? ( oh i can already imagine the lube jokes comming along.. )

Just grab a bit of that frock boi lovin bum lotion or k-y jell you would have tucked away and
work that chain YPedal MaN tell it that you love it ... tehehe  :p

I give mine an occasional spray and wipe with liquid lanolin try to keep it just lubricated not dripping and spraying shit everywhere...
you want clean chain less dirt and crap less resistance...

Something like this http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Silkolene-Motorcycle-Chain-Lube-400ml.aspx?pid=124146#details would work well imo.

I hope you have good brakes on your wheel chair, get a lively fish on the end of the line and you could end up in the drink sitting there!

Not bad, but you're tempting me to risk the first qantas crash in aviation history by bringing my lipo powered frocky over there to show you up
I can't see the vids at work but will check them out when I get home.

He rolls em in flour so he can find the wet spot of course

It tackles hills at a reasonable pace.
No uphill drag strips around here though :p

There's plenty of fishing in this thread, and not just those pictures you posted a page back

OOOH I hear a showdown comin!!

^^ Hyena would swing his handbag not a fish...

HiGHSiDE also knows full well in 10 minutes i can swap out rear sprockets and gain top end speed
I would considering making it higher geared if i didn't have to tow the chair but with it in tow the lower geared setup
doesn't noticeably affect hill climbing besides that, as i have since found i can't go quicker than 55 clicks without the chair swaying like
cheap caravan...That said ...soon as he confirms he is on the plane a 48 tooth sprocket will be slotted in
place of the 52tooth

I haven't forgotten you though buddy! I have a 16 and 20in rim here you can use and a kiddy trailer you can pile high with lipo packs and tow behind you

KiM

p.s will you be bringing your own Duct tape? i will buy some if not? I know you frock bois can't modify a bicycle without it  :p
