Hello,

Here is my solution for adding switch on my hydraulic brake of my Scott.

We begin with the underside of this brake:

I made a new handle shaft in stanless steel screw.

I fixed a microswitch on the back of the bracket

The switch suit very well

Excellent post! Obviously every model of brake will be different, but a little creativity goes a long way.

Well done, nice and very clean. I might steal that design for the rear brake...

Nice work, quick question, would it be possible to make this work on cable operated levers?

Easily. It's just a mechanical switch activate by the lever's motion. Both of which are the same on a hydros or cables.

But there are plenty e-bike levers available cheaply for cable brakes, so the mod usually isn't done/needed. It's the fact that they are not readily available everywhere (read: rare) in a hydraulic version that makes this mod desirable.

The switch can also be found at Radio Shack. Someone on this forum posted a similiar solution using that switch awhile back.

Kingfish first posted a similar mod. He's got 2 versions I've seen. One on the lever and one on the cable at the brake end. This one is very elegant in its use of already available structures within the brake lever.
