Voltage indicator always FULL!

Hello,
I have a 72V electric scooter, 22Ah and 500 watt motor
It is a copy of a Vespa LX50, it is new, works super well, the dashboard, is like the original, speedometer and voltage indicator are with needle, no digital!.
My problem is that even if my batteries are low, the pointer always indicates full! ???
Is there a way to solve the problem, Somebody said to me i need to put a resistance on the line before the indicator !?

Probably they used a gauge meant for a lower voltage (probably 48v).

Without knowing what electronics the gauge actually has, couldn't tell you what fix you might be able to apply, if any.

However, you can install a wattmeter, even the cheap RC ones will work as long as they are capable of over 82v (full charge on your battery pack). Most of them don't keep the data unless you add a backup battery to them, but as long as you note the Ah (or Wh) at the end of each ride before you turn the scooter off, you'll know about how much is left.

There's also the Cycle Analyst from Grin Tech http://ebikes.ca which does always remember it's data when shutdown (no battery needed); you can use v2.x (don't need the 3.x for this).

This is a copy of a Vespa scooter, i think the model is the LX50!?
This scooter is a 72 Volts, 22.3Ah Graphen battery and a 500 Watts motor.
I buy this scooter at 80km, with dead battery, i put 6 brand new 12V 22.3Ah graphen.
The only problem i have, it's the volt meter on dashboard always indicated FULL when the battery are low!?
I think the voltmeter on it it was for a 60V! They have the same model on 60V....
I'm going to install a digital voltmeter later

Update,

I drove almost 100 km since the installation of the new batteries and it run very well.
Top speed is 47 ~ 48 km/h (full load), but I drive on average at 35 ~ 40 km/h and I get a 52 km autonomy!
Very well seated and the suspension is not too hard even with its 10" x 3.00 tires. The acceleration is not super fast, but rises quickly
I still have to adjust the front mudguard that knocks on the front suspension!

Hi,

I am facing a similar issue. The system is 36V but the battery indicator always shows 100% battery. Seems like the SOC indicator is less than 36V.

Tried adding a 100 ohms resistance to the line but that doesn’t work perfectly and is also affecting performance of the bike like low pickup, reduced sound of horn etc. When added 100 ohms resistance after certain discharge one level reduces and that remains till the battery level reaches 0%.

Don’t know what to do? Unable to find 36V displays compatible with my controller. Desperate for some help.
